Craig’s Bond has brought back the darker tone of the Fleming’s style since even with the Austin Powers parody not particularly true reason, Bond has been a parody of its own self by stripping away elements for spectacle over storytelling. I
Today's lore post covers Ruvick, one of the main characters in Risen's story.
Ruvick's story begins at the dawn of humanity.
After Sheqar Khad first crafted humanity into clay and the Seraphim Lucifer imbued the empty vessels with souls, the human Adam was born.
In Sheqar Khad's frustration with Lucifer for interfering with his creation, he attempted to recreate the empty vessels of humanity, but failed as the soul in which Lucifer created was so mighty, it permeated throughout all existence and imbued everything with life, even the new empty vessels that Sheqar Khad created, leading to abandonment of his new creation.
Soon, Adam had married Eve and had two sons, Cain, the elder brother who became a hunter, and Abel, a still young child who idolized his elder brother.
While in the forest, Cain failed to keep his brother Abel safe as a tiger had locked its jaws around his throat and killed him.
Abel's death was the first in history and it roused Sheqar Khad's attention and appeared before Cain who was mourning over his brother's corpse.
Sheqar Khad blamed Cain for Abel's death, infuriating Cain who lashed out with words of anger and bitterness.
Out of pettiness at being disrespected by Cain, Sheqar Khad cursed him to live in the corpse of his dead brother for all eternity, never allowed to die.
As time passed, long after Lucifer had fallen from grace, he found Cain as he had woken up in Abel's flesh and took him under his wing as they departed on a journey to defeat Sheqar Khad.
Many centuries passed until Cain watered into a forest and happened upon a strange little girl with pale skin with red scales and eyes like a snake. Her hair was shapen like the hood of a cobra.
This girl's name was Apophis, and she was the Primordial Goddess of Chaos.
Apophis was amused and interested in Cain and wanted to grant him the strength he would need to accomplish his goals.
Cain's soul was mighty, but his corpse body was weak, and would not be of much use in battle. So Apophis laid a kiss upon him and transformed his body into the pinnacle of physical strength.
Not long after, a great flood swept upon the world and took the lives of many, yet Cain was among the ones who survived alongside Lucifer and many gods and men as they had crafted an Ark to survive the storm that Sheqar Khad and wrought upon them.
Infuriated that they had survived, Sheqar Khad attempted to wipe them out with a meteor, but the goddess Styx sealed him away.
In Sheqar Khad's absence, Lucifer built The Tower of Babel to raise an army, through which Cain wilfully descended within, battling for hundreds of thousands of years in many many wars until Artemis brought down the tower and the Second Age of Man began.
In this age, the era of civilization as humanity knows it came about until Jesus of Nazareth came into the world and brought about the beginning of The Final Age.
During the night before Jesus's death, Cain was approached by Apophis once more for the first time in many many years.
She took him to bed and laid with him, telling him that through her, he would be granted even mightier strength, the kind that could slay even a Primordial God. The nature of his being would transform into something that would transcend his body and soul into something greater, and he would bear a new name.
Yet also, through him, she would be granted a child. A child born from the essence of Chaos and Humanity would only result in Death, and so the Primordial of Death, Thanatos, was born.
After Jesus then died upon the cross, taking upon himself the sins of humanity, only then did Cain reappear to kill Sheqar Khad, The False One who claimed himself to be God.
Yet no longer was his name Cain. He had become a nameless Primordial who turned against Lucifer and strike against Sheqar Khad.
Yet in his effort to trike him down, he failed and was sent to another world.
Only in that world would he receive his true name.
He would be known as Ruvick, The God of Humanity.
