@Jlsmithyido@SpursOfficial Players should only be allowed to go where you get a good price, can replace them with better or where their contract is about to run out. None of those apply here. I could have seen him starting in the next month given how our defenders don’t want to defend.
@SpursOfficial Absolute madness. No way Danso or Spence should have been allowed to leave given how poor our remaining defenders appear to be at actually defending.
@ChrisCowlin We will regret this one when Di Zerbi realises that you do need defenders who can head the ball and he was the only one in our squad who could 🤬
@Lilywhite_Rose@SpursOfficial Agreed. I’d rather have used him that loaning a player from Chelsea who will either be crap or will end up back at Chelsea if he does do well.
@BBCMOTD For all the credit our board deserve for their investment this summer I really don’t agree with this policy of let them go if they want to leave. We need a decent squad and selling Spence and Danso and replacing them with weaker players is so short sighted.
@JebaliiAziz@SpursOfficial Anybody who thinks Tel is a poor player clearly knows very little about the game. Terrible free kick but looked like he slipped. One of our best players otherwise.
@charlieparrish I think there is a risk that we will find out very quickly that we need a quick CB who is good aerially given it doesn’t seem to be a strength of our other 3 CB’s. I get he may want to go but I can’t see us finding anyone better if we do let him go.
@AlasdairGold It’s fine to want more from the club but when you are being paid good money you need to do your part. Had we gone down there is a certain amount of blame that could have been directed to our club captain for his inability to stay on the football pitch.
@Lilywhite_Rose@AlasdairGold That feels very harsh on Toby who was excellent, the model pro and Mr Consistent. Romero had a few very good games for us including Bilbao but to put him that high you have to, in my view, be judging him on his Argentina form which he rarely showed for us.
@sammylpowell He is a loss because on his day he was a World Class player. Unfortunately those days were 1 out of 10 games and he was available for about half of them. And I can’t agree on the bleeding loyalty. Treated Spurs like a hobby outside of his main job of playing for Argentina.
@SportsFinance@Donutssman@patricktyrant Our strikers are crap but after the shitshow of the last couple of years our owners deserve to be paying for a rebuild without ruining squad depth in the process.
@Donutssman@SportsFinance@patricktyrant You arguably need 3 players for every position when in Europe and 2 when you aren’t. With our injury record and firm intention to be back in Europe after this season we shouldn’t be selling players like Spence. Selling Walker & Trippier worked so well previously didn’t it?!
@SportsFinance Spence would start if we have injury issues with Porro or if Robertson is out as you can’t rely on Udogie. If he had issues then why would he have made the WC squad where he performed well?
Brighton are no mugs in the transfer market so I doubt they have overpaid for Vuskovic
@SportsFinance We didn’t want rid of Vuskovic or Spence though, they wanted to go. There are certain times when you have to dig in and tell a player that they either can’t leave (Spence) or they must go out on loan (Vuskovic) . Feels to me like that’s what should have been done here.
@marcus_buckland Unlike a lot of our fans I’ve got no issue with the price for Romero. He is damaged goods. Don’t get the logic of selling Spence though. Good versatile player who should have played more who we will struggle to replace. Hardly a knock out fee either.
