Oh my days. This government is going to be a disastrous shitshow beyond mortal reckoning. An epic, Olympian saga of a clusterfuck.
Government by people who hate us, for people who hate us.
As you watch Aaron Rai in the PGA Championship, you might notice he uses iron covers for his clubs and wears two gloves — two habits often viewed as golf faux pas. But both are actually inspiring.
Rai grew up in a working-class family in England, where his father sacrificed heavily to support his golf career. When Aaron got an expensive set of irons as a kid, his dad would clean every groove with a pin and baby oil after practice because the clubs meant that much to them. The iron covers became a reminder to appreciate what you have.
And the two gloves? Rai started wearing them as a kid during cold-weather golf in England and eventually became so comfortable with the feel that he never stopped.
Not gimmicks. Just gratitude… and comfort.
“Many of our policy makers and much of civil society, inspired by the success in Northern Ireland, believe that all wars and terrorism can be stopped by clever conflict-resolution discussion and compromise, forgetting that violent actors such as the IRA only come to the talking table when their paramilitary capability is rendered ineffective by the actions of a military that is trained to fight and die for its citizens.”
“So much of the current criticism of the SAS’s actions of the past stems from this mistaken belief that peace and security can be achieved and maintained without fighting and sacrifice, and that those, like the SAS, that do the fighting, killing and dying on behalf of society are somehow out-of-date, illegal dinosaurs. And this is the most dangerous fiction of all.”

Wow. £500,000 in funding for AI in Barnsley to make it our first “Tech town”. That’ll have them shaking in their shoes in Silicon Valley. Why is the BBC fronting this state propaganda instead of exposing it for the pathetic performative nonsense it is? BBC viewers deserve better. Barnsley deserves much better. @OneShow
This is the fucking death rattle of a once-lethal empire.
Elite SAS operators...hardened killers from D and G Squadrons, men who have danced with the devil in the dust of Afghanistan and the shadows of Syria...are walking away in droves.
Not from fear of the enemy, but from the venomous blade of their own nation’s human-rights lawyers and retrospective inquisitors. Witch hunts dressed in the sanctimonious robes of “accountability.”
This isn’t oversight; it’s pathology.
A civilization that has internalized self-loathing to the point where it pathologically castrates its own apex predators.
You cannot forge a military that operates with lethal precision under the Damocles sword of war-crimes tribunals.
Split-second decisions in the fog of war...against savages who behead, rape, and film atrocities for propaganda...now second-guessed by desk-bound parasites who’ve never heard a round crack past their ear.
The warrior psyche demands absolute trust that the nation behind the trigger has its back.
Strip that away and you don’t get caution; you get paralysis.
You get morale annihilation.
You get the slow psychological evisceration of men bred for violence, now forced to weigh legal liability before they pull the trigger.
What remains is not an army...it’s a risk-averse bureaucracy selecting for compliance over courage.
Historically, this is the recurring cancer that felled Rome:
when the Senate’s legalists and philosophers emasculated the legions to appease internal pieties and foreign opinion, the barbarians didn’t need to win battles; the empire simply rotted from within.
Britain post-Suez, post-Falklands decline echoes the same suicidal trajectory...once the sharpest edge of Western power, now reduced to a declawed housecat bleeding talent because its own elites prefer performative morality over survival.
Geopolitically, it’s suicide by self-flagellation.
While Russia and China field militaries unbound by ECHR fantasies or activist jurisprudence...unfettered by neurotic restraints that treat every dead jihadi as a potential lawsuit...NATO’s premier special-forces unit hemorrhages its finest.
The UK, once the tip of the spear, now presents as a soft underbelly.
This isn’t alliance strength; it’s collective weakness masquerading as virtue.
One moreExhibit in why this bloated, lawyer-infested pact is a strategic liability, not an asset.
Time to fucking disentangle.
Get the hell out of NATO before the rot metastasizes fatally.
The UK hasn’t just stumbled; it has fallen.
And the jackals circling its carcass are its own “progressive” elites.
Lethal force demands lethal protection for those who wield it.
Anything less is national betrayal...pure and simple.
This is civilizational suicide.

Renewable electricity does not produce: petrol, diesel, bunker fuel, or jet fuel; it does not produce the feed stock for ammonia used to make fertilisers, or feedstocks for chemicals, pharmaceuticals or plastics; it does not produce bitumen, carbon fibres, armaments or ammunition; it does not produce the industrial heat needed to make cement, glass, aluminium, ceramics or steel.
Claiming we shouldn't mine oil and gas in the UK because we won't be self sufficient is like suggesting we shouldn't produce any food because we won't be able to grow enough and would still need to import some.
Caroline Lucas is NOT right.
This is the reason why we can never reform healthcare in the UK — or even have a sensible debate about it.
The moment anyone suggests alternative/additional ways of funding health Labour rushes out privatisation smears and claims US private health insurance is being proposed.
Labour has been doing it for decades. It explains why the NHS is effectively beyond reform.
The two worst health systems in the rich world are in America and the UK. It’s why nobody has ever copied them. It would be mad to go from ours to theirs (or vice versa).
But Europe is awash with health systems that can call on several sources of funds, including many with compulsory public health insurance schemes. They have better health outcomes than the NHS. They are free at the point of use (like the NHS). Most of them are better funded.
But Labour puts them out of bounds, refuses even to discuss or consider. So patient care suffers. NHS struggles on.
Labour is always telling us we need to get closer to Europe. It’s where we belong. But not when it comes to health, where it insists no lessons can be learned. Pretty pathetic, really.
A second night of mayhem in Clapham. These are not angry young people making a political statement. They are thugs, pure and simple. There should be mass arrests.
What a profound little paragraph ......
"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."
~ Dr. Adrian Rogers
In 1870, a German chemist named Erich von Wolf was analysing the iron content of various vegetables.
He made a decimal point error.
He recorded spinach as containing 35mg of iron per 100g. The correct figure was 3.5mg. The misplaced decimal sat in the nutritional literature for decades, entirely unchallenged, because nobody particularly felt like re-testing spinach.
In 1929, the Popeye comic strip launched. The creators cited the iron content of spinach as the scientific basis for their character's powers. By this point, the decimal point error was already sixty years old and fully embedded in received nutritional wisdom.
The error was identified and corrected in 1937. The correction was not issued with anything approaching the cultural reach of the original claim.
Popeye continued punching things.
The actual iron content of spinach, 3.5mg per 100g, roughly where it was always supposed to be, is further complicated by the fact that spinach is among the highest-oxalate vegetables known.
Oxalates bind to iron and calcium in the gut and remove them before absorption. The iron in spinach absorbs at around 1–2%, compared to 15–35% for haem iron from red meat. You would need to eat roughly a kilogram of spinach to absorb the iron equivalent of a 100g beef steak.
There is also the kidney stone question. Spinach contains around 970mg of oxalates per 100g: one of the densest plant sources. Chronic high spinach consumption, particularly raw in daily smoothies, is a documented pathway to calcium oxalate kidney stones.
The smoothie industry has not issued a correction.
Popeye is still a sailor.
The thing I hate the most is hypocrisy and gaslighting.
If you say that too many people in Britain don't speak English, live in a parallel society and don't integrate you'll be shouted down and called names by the very same people who are campaigning in a foreign language:
A couple of weeks ago, HOPE Not Hate ran a 'story' on its website saying my "association with Epstein's circle" needed to be "scrutinised" because, as per the latest batch of the Epstein files, I sent two emails to Ghislaine Maxwell, one in 2001, the other in 2002, six years before Epstein pleaded guilty to child sexual offences. This was in spite of the fact that I told the 'journalist' writing the piece that I'd never met Epstein, never spoken to him, never emailed him, never traded messages with him, never been to any of his homes, never been on the Lolita Express, never been to Paedo Island, etc, etc. Nevertheless, according to HOPE Not Hate, the fact that I'd emailed his ex-girlfriend twice, 25 and 24 years ago, meant I now needed to be investigated.
Today, the BBC reported that a former Labour Councillor, Liron Velleman, has pleaded guilty to child sexual offences. That's the same Liron Velleman who in 2022 gave evidence to a House of Commons Committee scrutinising the Online Safety Bill where he was described as a "political organiser" for HOPE Not Hate.
According to the pro-censorship lobby group's own logic, shouldn't all its employees and volunteers, who have a much closer link to this convicted sex offender than I ever did with Epstein, now be investigated?
I look forward to HOPE Not Hate's response. https://t.co/dy1d0DG1NX
One thing the situation in Iran has made crystal clear is that whichever country, regime, group or political ideology, no matter how vile, disgusting or repressive, however many people are massacred or exterminated, as long as they are anti-West, specifically anti-US (and by extension anti-Israel), they will have the unquestioning support of the majority of the liberal left and the entertainment world.
The same “progressive left” who happily live in the west, profit from its relative freedoms, yet turn their activism on and off like a switch, or in some cases, even make a living out of it.
It is disappointing and exhausting.
But grateful to all those who have spoken out. Especially in the comedy community. It takes a lot of guts to do so when everyone around you is looking the other way.
I am a committed trade unionist of 35 years standing. I am proud of everything the trade union movement has achieved throughout history. But its abandonment of women fighting to defend their sex-based rights makes me ashamed. Whenever there is a successful tribunal or court result for women - such as today, with the Darlington nurses - mainstream unions are nowhere to be seen. And invariably they lament the outcome. Women are being forced to rely on the Free Speech Union and Christian groups to fight their corner. It’s an utter disgrace.
