Seven Deadly Sins Origin – CBT Wrap-Up & My Honest Opinion
The beta is coming to an end, so here’s my take after spending a good amount of time with it.
Overall, as a Seven Deadly Sins fan, it’s a really enjoyable experience, nostalgic, exciting, and full of potential.
Rating: ⭐ 6/10
Pros ✅
- Massive open world: The map is huge, colorful, and visually beautiful. Exploring Britannia actually feels rewarding.
- Three-weapon system: Each character having three weapon styles is a great concept and adds a lot of depth.
- Boss battles: Well-designed and fun, especially some of the world bosses.
- Boss intros: The cinematic introductions before each major fight are a nice touch.
- Shared HP system: A great idea that makes team management more tactical.
- Multiplayer / Co-op: One of the best parts of the game, matchmaking works well and the co-op fights are a highlight.
- Flying early: Being able to fly so soon in the story feels great and makes exploration smoother.
- Loading times: Surprisingly fast, especially when using fast travel.
- Craftable costumes: You can actually craft outfits through engraved armor, a nice customization feature.
- Story potential: The narrative is promising with room to grow.
- Variety: The elemental system and combat diversity give players plenty of team options.
- For 7DS fans: The experience is genuinely amazing and full of nostalgia, you’ll love seeing this world in an open-world format.
Cons ❌
- Too many bugs & issues: The game’s stability is rough right now, it needs major fixing before launch.
- UI design: Clunky, outdated, and unintuitive. Needs a complete overhaul.
- Optimization: Performance is bad even on strong PCs (I’m running an RTX 5058 and still dip below 60 FPS).
- Combat: It’s clunky and needs to be polished.
- Lock-on system: Inconsistent and unreliable, needs a proper rework as it’s a hit or miss right now.
- Parry system: Could be improved with clearer timing and an audio cue.
- RNG-heavy: Weapon and armor systems are extremely RNG-based and require a ton of grinding if you’re unlucky.
- Armor system:
- Normal and engraved armor feel unbalanced and awkwardly designed.
- The RNG is insane, especially for engraved gear. You need RNG to even get level 50 armor, and then more RNG for sub-stats.
- Way too much RNG across the entire system.
- They should simplify it to one structure, either 1 engraved + 3 accessories, or 4 armor + 3 accessories.
- Stamina system: Terrible. Glide/dash stamina runs out too fast, kills exploration flow, and makes combat feel awful when dash is restricted.
- Small interactions: Things like opening chests could be faster, make it instant when no enemies are nearby.
- Element restrictions: Forcing certain elements in dungeons feels restrictive and not fun.
- Too Genshin-inspired: You can tell where the inspiration came from, but it’s not as polished or fluid yet.
- Time pressure: With only around 3 months to release, it’s doubtful they can fix everything properly.
Final Thoughts 💭
Despite the flaws, I actually enjoyed the CBT. The foundation is solid, the story has potential, the combat system could evolve into something great, and the co-op gameplay shines the most. The shared HP system, multiple weapon styles, and elemental mechanics give the game depth, but it’s still rough around the edges.
If Netmarble can fix performance, rework the UI, reduce the RNG mess, and improve QoL features, Seven Deadly Sins Origin could become a genuinely fun and nostalgic open-world RPG for fans of the series.

@_VectorPrime Yup, they should delay it at this point and work on all these things. They need to improve/rework a lot of things which 3 months wont be enough at all
@ZeldroPH Oh damn oke, played genshin a bit but never really got into it since you cant skip story lmao. But didnt think genshin would also have these kinds of issues thought by now it should be at a good state
In case you missed it by leveling up your characters in Seven Deadly Sins Origin, you actually get 4 dupes (Potential Points) for free
