@kianafiend @amalavijgnana As a Russian born and currently living in Estonia, I haven’t heard this, but I’m not surprised. Some older Estonians do act prejudiced against Russians, and I’ve felt it myself.

And THIS sort of attitude lets people know that it’s okay to be racist against white people and to erase Slavic culture. This coming from a Timely Tsaritsa account is just embarrassing.

we are not nationally bound to any one place. it’s also not racist to draw a character to look more like oneself (when done respectfully).
also, this sort of attitude is what lets people know that it’s okay for them to behave in a racist way and get away with it.

Timely Tsaritsa and the comments under this post all outing themselves as huge racists. Blackwashing a white character is not any less racist than whitewashing a black one. Changing someone’s race IS racist; their intentions for doing so don’t matter. Uncle SC is right.

first off, white people do NOT experience racism in any close capacity to any other race.
secondly, black people exist everywhere!

@itszreg @Demonking1YT And if making Natlan characters pale skinned is erasing the identity of the communities they are inspired by, I don’t see how a person blackwashing the Tsaritsa is not an erasure of the Slavic community. Their intentions don’t matter, changing a character’s race is racist.

@itszreg @Demonking1YT enslaved, but as a Slav, let me tell you that Slavic people had faced oppression and discrimination in the past, and continue to do so in the present day. I may not know what discrimination a black person faces, but non-Slavs don’t understand the struggles of the Slavic people.

@cereza_violenta I’m so glad you agree, all I’ve seen is glaze for them lol. And we’re definitely going to get more unrevealed characters in early 2027. Just better pray they’re not designed the same way as these new ones…

Mihoyo did not cook with the Snezhnaya character designs. I only find the Tsaritsa appealing, which is a first. Even Natlan had 2 characters whose designs I actually liked.

@pdpg34 Straight women still get to enjoy heterosexual works! We have Japanese otome games to thank for that, and I write fanfiction specifically for straight women like me. We also enjoy romance manga and books, so it’s not too bad. Fujoshi can ruin some media, though.

@pdpg34 This makes it easier for minority groups to ask indie developers for inclusion, and due to Western culture, any rejection to include them will make you seem like you’re discriminating against them. People don’t understand why mixing BL in otome is not liked by straight women.

@pdpg34 The issue is that unlike in Japan, the West doesn’t have large gaming companies that make games catering to women only. Most otome games are either localized from Japan or made by individual fans on the genre. +
