“We are using our own hands to clean the poison people throw away.
But slowly, people began joining us too.
Members from Ashok Vihar, including Vikas Khari ji, Samay Singh ji, Dr Mudita ji and Dr Sunil Kumar Mishra ji, supported the campaign. The principal of Lakshmibai College also came to join us.
And sometimes, one sentence from a child makes everything worth it.
“Bhaiya, my lane is clean today. Maa is happy.”
That is the biggest emotional reward.
Since 1 September 2018, we have worked every Sunday, without stopping.
More than 1,600 children and young people have joined us, with 350 active volunteers.
We have cleaned dozens of parks, hundreds of lanes, the Yamuna banks, and now several ghats along a 3-km stretch of the Munak Canal.
And we don’t just remove waste.
We plant trees too, and look after the saplings for three months.
Over the years, we have removed thousands of tonnes of garbage, debris and plastic.
In just the last two Munak Canal drives, 50 metric tonnes of waste was removed, a figure also recorded in MCD’s official records.
And there is a bigger dream.
I want to build a school for 1,500 children, where they learn to become protectors of the environment.” – Vinay Das

She's the mother of deceased Sahil Wakode.
But just look at her face, No pain or any grief. She's busy in targeting Prof. Doolla to get the compensation of Rs.12 lakh under the Modi Act.
@UnSubtleDesi First, SC/ST want entry to one of the premier institute in India with less marks.
Second, they should not be caught by the invigilator while cheating.
In Future, they should not be failed in the exam.
This will not stop.
So now the youth will pick up all the garbage and clean the streets too?
Then what exactly is the Municipal Corporation supposed to do?
Citizens have a role in keeping cities clean, but who is responsible for making the Municipal Corporation do its job?
@MacroMatrix1 It is important to adhere to and show reverence for the cultural norms of the place where one resides and makes a living. This is the reason behind the unfavorable view of Indians.
This girl, Sunita Oraon, hails from the tribal community and is a former gold medalist in national volleyball. Today, she works as a sweeper at Ranchi Stadium.
Her salary is 10,000 rupees and she doesn't receive it for months.
As a nation, we have failed. Chief Minister Hemant Soren should give her a permanent and respectable job, or else resign from his post. 💔
You cannot remotely imagine how extraordinary this is.
Maintaining a 6:00 min/km pace for 122 km at an altitude ranging from 12,000 to 17,000 feet is simply out of this world. It means running for 12 hours and 12 minutes at an average speed of nearly 10 km/h. 99.9% of people wouldn’t even be able to run a sub 1 hour 10K on a flat track at sea level. Mindfukinblowing 🤯
