"The Grinch hated Christmas! The whole Christmas season! Now, please don't ask why. No one quite knows the reason...'
For our final day of festive recommendations, we have the marvellous Maria from our Finance team with a Christmas CLASSIC! 🎄📚
On days 10 & 11 of Christmas we saw our wonderful Creative Associates (and part time Elves!) Rosie and Jackie select their favourite festive reads:
On the 9th Day of Christmas, we have Graphic Designer John choose the perfect gift for budding creatives and illustrators:
“As an illustrator myself, Tove Jansson (and Moominland) remains a prime example of how to carefully craft an imagined world full of, quirky characters.
On the 8th Day of Christmas our Executive Assistant, Georgie, shares one of her most beloved books from her childhood (and if she's honest her adulthood too!):
“For as long as I can remember, there's not been a Christmas where I haven't re-visited Little Women!”
Need Christmas gift ideas? Our @TheTimesBooks Best Books for Children 2022 table can certainly help!

Our fabulous Creative Lead in Residence @therroneill selects Day 7:
“Before it’s many adaptation, there was War Horse the novel, and what a novel it remains! Morpurgo truly brings this remarkable story to life with his powerful command over the English language and humanity.”
Day 6 saw our lovely events liaison Katy with a pick from our wonderful Collection:
“One of my favourite reads, I recommend this gorgeous book to any one over the age of 9 and onwards who are after a read that contains a multitude of meaningful themes, layers and emotion”
On the 5th Day of Christmas we have our lovely Senior Creative Associate, Rachel, with her favourite festive read:
“Whether you’re 3 or 93, yet to choose your Christmas Tree or have had yours up since November, this is the PERFECT read to get you in the mood for the holidays”
On the 4th day of Christmas we have the fabulous Issi from our Learning & Outreach team:
“A phenomenon across YA readers on TikTok, Adam Silvera has delivered his signature bittersweet touch once more in the prequel to ‘They Both Die At The End!’
For the 3rd day of Christmas - our lovely Creative Associate Harriet picks her favourite Storytime classic:
“This is my favourite non-conventional Christmas read, and definitely a family favourite to return to year after year after year!”
📚🎁 For the 2nd Day of Christmas, we have our brilliant Bookshop Coordinator Caleb with one of his all time favourites:
“The Wolf, The Duck & The Mouse is a classic for the next generation of readers. Turning The Gruffalo on its head, its surprises continue page after page.”
We’re off to a cracking start with a fabulously festive recommendation from our CEO Wendy:
The Grumpus and his Dastardly, Deadly Christmas Plan by @Alex_T_Smith ✨🎄
