We Will Remember and Never Forget

Today, on this sacred occasion of Holocaust Remembrance Day, we bow our heads in memory of six million of our brothers and sisters who were brutally murdered on the soil of Europe.

We honor the heroism of the fighters in the ghettos, the courage of the partisans, and the strength of those who preserved their humanity even in the depths of hell.

Each year we pledge “Never Again.” Yet today, more than ever, as Iran and its allies openly call for the destruction of Israel and work tirelessly against the Jewish state, the need to remain vigilant is clearer than ever.

We must internalize the lessons of the past and remember: antisemitism and the desire to destroy the Jewish people have not disappeared they have only taken on new and more dangerous forms.

Remembrance is not only a moral duty to those we lost it is our moral compass for the future. Our unity, the strength of the IDF, and our determination to defend our sovereignty in our homeland are the true answer to those who seek our destruction.

Each victim had a name, a face, and a dream that was cut short. We promise them: we will not forget, we will not forgive the murderers, and we will never allow any force in the world to erase the Jewish people or their state.

We are here united, resilient, and strong.
From the ashes we rose, and we will carry the torch of memory from generation to generation.

The History of the "Kurdish Jew"

Some criticize the term "Kurdish Jew," but it is deeply rooted in history. They represent one of the oldest exiles, confirmed by both Assyrian records and the Bible.

In 16th-century Egypt, records show individuals like Harun al-Kurdi (1512) and Abd al-Karun al-Kohen al-Kurdi (1560) proudly retaining their ethnic identity. While they may not have needed the label in Kurdistan, they ensured "al-Kurdi" was preserved while in foreign lands.

This is no coincidence—in the 1st Century CE, the Kurdish King of Erbil and Queen Helena of Adiabene converted to Judaism. Their tomb remains a landmark in Jerusalem today.
