"He's the best player that's ever walked this Earth."
Will Smith (1-4, R, BB) talks with the media after the #Dodgers shut out the D-backs, winning 7-0.
I'm glad someone asked why Sho has only been throwing fastball+sweepers but even Smith doesn't know either 🤣 I guess it's either trying to stay healthy or he just hasn't had good feel for it
@FayBoyID I hope he starts throwing the splitter a decent amt again cause when he's right and using that splitter, it brings him to a whole other level that hitters can't touch
Crazy part is Ohtani hasn't even been pitching his best. A lot of command issues and still only throwing mostly fastball/sweeper. Maybe it's cause his command of the curveball and splitter haven't been good or he's trying to stay healthy.
@schwarbombz Typical braindead phillies fans, schwarber is hitting like .230 BA and is a fat fk who cant run. Ohtani has been a better overall offensive player, despite having less HRs. Even the advanced metrics suggest Ohtani has been better than Schwarber
Lowest ERA in first 10 starts of season, since ER official (1913) excl openers:
2021 Jacob deGrom: 0.56
1966 Juan Marichal: 0.59
2026 Shohei Ohtani: 0.74
!!!
Also has been on base 4 times tonight
Following six more scoreless innings tonight, Shohei Ohtani's ERA is 0.74. Through 10 starts, the lowest ERAs in major league history:
Jacob deGrom, 2021: 0.56
Juan Marichal, 1966: 0.59
Shohei Ohtani, 2026: 0.74
Hitters are slashing .144/.224/.211 against him. Just incredible.
Shohei Ohtani is through 6 shutout innings against the Diamondbacks:
6 IP
2 H
0 ER
1 BB
6 K
His season ERA is down to 0.74. He’s also 2-for-2 and reached base in all 4 plate appearances today.
He’s unreal.
He's kinda been insane tbh, been on base all 4 times so far and 6 scoreless innings. But I can't be satisfied cause he's not striking out a lot of batters like he used to and not hitting HRs like he used to 😭
@FayBoyID ya the reason I was worried was cause it was like 93mph way out of the zone still, so he still didn't have command. If he at least threw it for strikes I would've came to that conclusion too
On Tuesday, Shohei Ohtani hit a triple in the second inning, and that ball was authenticated and is being sold for $10,000 by the Arizona Diamondbacks.
32% of all sales are donated to the D-Backs Foundation, while the remaining 68% stays with the team. Ohtani also hit a double in the first inning on Tuesday, and that ball is being sold for $2,000.
