Take a moment to learn one or all of these ASL phrases. Do it for yourself or do it for the stranger that may need your kindness. Communities thrive on communication. 💗🤟💕
@SlicedWrestling@NMN2510@NYCSchools Not all of NYC is accessible by train, you know that right? Not everyone upset about this lives on Long Island. Two years ago school staff and students were trapped for hours on their commute home (both in cars and public transit) when less snow was predicted.
Meanwhile, it's worth repeating that most kids are still learning online. And I don't recall a single de Blasio/Chancellor presser dedicated to how they're improving remote learning. 🤔😬🙃
Is this the genre where @JoeBiden and @MikeBloomberg announce (in a showing of solidarity) they are going to teach for a week in a poorly ventilated, freezing classroom w/untested kindergarten students, who eat 2 snacks and lunch indoors daily?
I love teaching. I love children. This country is making it increasingly difficult for me and many others to remain teachers. The consequences of this are going to be devastating for our students, and for our country. And teachers have been saying this all year.
Is there a Democrat governor or mayor that isn’t trying to push schools to open? I’m sincerely asking. Things aren’t getting better. There’s a new, more contagious variant out and I’m watching democrats do what they rightfully criticized Trump and republicans of doing.
Middle Schools scheduled to reopen after winter break: still don't have enough testing, ventilation, & hundreds of schools are closed every day now with COVID19 spread/variants surging. Thousands of students/staff positive in 2021 alone: this is not safe & we need to fight back:
Here we go.... @UFT@nysut@aft
So how are yall advocating for us again. I will have my 2nd vaccination by then praise the lord. Will my colleagues and the rest of the school community? How will medical accommodations be handled? Staffing?

Prison Reform got rid of the Death Penalty in America in the 1970s. Then Prison Reform brought BACK the Death Penalty 4 years later. Reform is not enough. Moratoriums are not enough. Reforms not rooted in Abolition are doomed to fail.
Vaccinated politicians trying to send teachers back to school feels a lot like millionaire politicians saying people don’t need a check, or don’t need a higher minimum wage.
Today, I led a letter to President Biden urging him to stop the construction of the Line 3 pipeline.
Climate change does not stop at the border of a reservation or a state or a country—it impacts us all.
The Biden Administration can and must act to stop Line 3.
But NYC has NOT figured out how to reopen schools in-person OR safely. 90% of our students are remote: 75% chose to be, ALL middle/high schools are closed, hundreds of remaining schools are CLOSED EVERY DAY because of COVID19, & THOUSANDS of kids/staff got sick JUST THIS MONTH!😡
