Loved facilitating the Urology study day today. 20 delegates from various depts,12 speakers including consultant urologist and specialist nurses, and an invaluable patient experience. Refreshments greatly received from @SandpiperCIJsy and lunch from MUG thanks to all involved
@SepsisUK Honestly if I could show you our ED.. waiting times are minimal, people don’t abuse what they have to pay for. Many have private healthcare insurance including for ambulance service. I’ve never seen a queue of ambulances waiting to handover
Spent the day with @Boo_HQ to talk about techniques to promote self care.Something that health professionals struggle to do. Pleased that newly registered nurses and nursing associates for @HSCJobsGuernsey will be attending the same and having support throughout their first year
Spent the day writing &sending out calendar invites for the 2022/23 preceptorship programme for NQN & nursing associates. Really pleased with the format & the commitment that @HSCJobsGuernsey has to releasing staff to attend one study day per month to consolidate their learning
Beginning to organise Preceptorship for NQN qualifying September.starting with meds management, revalidation, MIP, a day for e learning, then SALT and Nutrition day, then another day a month by PDLs/specialist nurses. 2 years in and we have a really solid prog @HSCJobsGuernsey
Realised today that I have been in my PDL role for 5 years this week. It was my dream job for 10 years before I started,so am super lucky to enjoy it most of the time. Love working with @HannahJSmale & @HelenaAvery and still learn new things daily ❤️
Train the trainer day organsied by @HannahJSmale was successful.Portable suction, syringe drivers,FIT testing,IPC devices, defib, blood trans,IV pumps, drager monitors. We had at least 10 people on each from a mix of ortho, maternity, day patients, ICU. Thanks to all trainers
Any of my contacts involved with deteriorating patients…Are you still using SBAR as a handover tool or changed to SBARD? Can’t find much evidence. Thanks
NEWS2… I am updating the local deteriorating patient policy. What are your timeframes locally for clinical response in patients scoring 5 or more and 7 or more please? We are currently working at 30 mins and 15 respectively but will change if evidence suggests. Thanks
