"A substantive nationalization or regionalization of supply chains has the risk to further reduce diversification of suppliers and reduces opportunities for countries to benefit from integrating into the global economy."
In the sense that, entrepreneurs can be nurtured and made. If the spirit of entrpreneurship is nurtured at a young age, entrepreneurs emerge. When those entrepreneurs can take on the world, dependence can be reduced. But this is not going to happen overnight. #AtmaNirbharBharat
Heartfelt thanks to @skochgroup for giving us the opportunity to share perspectives and journeys. We hope that the information we shared was useful and relevant on how #Entrepreneurship is nurtured and built in Singapore and perhaps could be in India too. #AtmaNirbharBharat
@skochgroup @SkochSameer@DhanjalDr Say the government invests 100, in a year, the interest is 10. Typically startup valuation grows at a multiplier rather than a percentage. In one year an investor can buy the debt at 110. Startup gets early stage investment, the govt. makes money, the investor gets a discount.
@skochgroup @SkochSameer@smita1900@DhanjalDr@RohanSkoch Some have dubbed China's investment activities as neo-colonialism. But the dependence on China's factories and cheap goods and components, especially in high-tech and electronics cannot be overlooked. The COVID pandemic has revealed this even more as China remained shut.
“When you talk about collateral-based funding, there are a lot of convertible note based capital also available where the govt. provides you investment in the form of the convertible note” Mr. Varun Chatterji, Co-founder, @7thSenseAI speaking at #IndiaMSMEForum#AtmaNirbharBharat
@skochgroup @SkochSameer@DhanjalDr@RohanSkoch If you map the journey of the entrepreneur from ideation stage, to seed funding, to growth funding, to mezzanine funding and provide good capital support at each of these milestones, it is possible to create entrepreneurs not just nurture them #Entrepreneurship
@skochgroup @SkochSameer@smita1900@DhanjalDr@RohanSkoch Of course there is a huge anti-China sentiment from many quarters, and, perhaps, that may prove to be an opportunity for many. The economic interdependence with China is, however, hard to deny. 75% of India's power plants use Chinese components, 68% smartphones are Chinese made.
“In India, as growing up in 90s, we were not exposed to entrepreneurship, & everyone was following one another to become an engineer or doctor.”- Mr. Varun Chatterji, co-founder, @7thSenseAI speaking at India MSME Forum
