@poncho_pepe_@AlanJLSmith Yes of course I mean the last time New Labour left office they left a note for the incoming tories saying were sorry theres no money left, sounds like they did a brilliant job
The problem is its not just houses
We've added 3 million people since 2020 thats 3 times the population of Liverpool and the city region. Where have we managed to build 3 cities the size of Liverpool in 6 years?
hospitals wise, - Liverpool has six, so that would be 18 new hospitals to build
Then you need schools, there are around 200 schools in Liverpool, so we would have to build 600 of those
Then dentists and GP surgeries
Extra plumbing and water treatment, extra power generation and distribution
Telecoms
And so on and so on
Do you think we actually built even a 10th of that?
@ShadowyPM@Conservatives Which part of every meeting he has suggests its only a small handful of Labour MPs
There is a reason Labour was always known as the Tax and Burn party
@ShadowyPM@Conservatives If anything that re-enforces the statement, labour MPs are not focused on growing the economy or generating more wealth, simply taking off one person to give to another
@CursedRaindrop@joeparsonsqa@UKLabour We would rather not be taxed at all, I know that never crosses the mind of Labour that you actually reduce tax, make people wealthier and let them spend their money on what they want (including food for their children) but it is an option
Education isnt free, going to university usually means racking up huge amounts of debt which you have to start paying back once your wage exceeds a certain figure students can easily walk out with debts of £100k
Our healthcare is "free at the point of use" meaning you go in the hospital and dont walk out with a huge bill
However anyone who works pays national insurance to fund the "free healthcare" and the more you earn the more you pay
I'm employed, I've worked every day of my adult life since leaving school at 16 I've never signed on
Never claimed a benefit or used social housing
Never used the NHS for anything more serious than allergies
Never used the NHS dentists for anything other than 2 fillings
Never missed even 1 month NI contributions
As for disabled having the onus on them, I believe EVERY SINGLE PERSON, has an onus on them to not be a drain on those around them wherever possible, disabled or not.
Yes the truly needy need help, obviously a person with locked in syndrome has to rely entirely on those around them for instance but there arent 4 million adults in the UK completely incapable of working in some way
I fully believe disabled people are capable of making some sort of societal contribution, obviously it depends on the individual and their circumstances, but a great many disabled people could do something
As for the top 10% assuming what you say is true that shows even more so just how screwed this country is that only a very small minority put in more than they take out, that figure should be no more than say 20-30% are a net negative at the most
And as for my earnings I prefer to not broadcast it on social media thx 🫡
I've complained about a lot of things for a good long time at this point
Including offshore profits, globalisation in general, I've been an advocate of rebuilding tariff walls
I dont believe in benefits for life
I dont believe in benefits for the newly immigrated
There is a great many things going on in this cou try that I think are wrong and need to be changed
@raamidhalacrew@ZiaYusufUK As i said when there is perceptions of unfairness as we have now there can be big problems,
there is a reason we were the first nation to force the monarch to acknowledge written in law that they weren't above the law
