"The industry upcycle driven by the current AI transformation is expected to last for three years."
In the first half of 2026, China’s semiconductor industry has been shaped by an extreme “feast and famine” dynamic under the influence of AI.
Looking ahead to the second half of the year, our Portfolio Manager Zongting Zhao pointed out that structural divergence is expected to persist, and rising costs across the supply chain may temporarily weigh on profitability at certain stages. However, over a longer horizon, the industry upcycle driven by AI transformation is expected to last approximately three years. In the medium to long term, deeper domestic substitution and sustained local demand for computing power will continue to unlock significant growth potential across the semiconductor value chain.
