Louis Kilper was taken POW by the Germans on July 4, 1944 in Normandy and was released from the Stalag IV-D on May 8, 1945.

Two new arrivals in my collection: an envelope from the Cpl Julian C. Mann (ASN 13119294) from the Btry C, 322nd F.A. Bn and a postcard from the Pvt Louis Kilper (ASN 35344172) from the HQ Co., 331st IR.

@myramiller2861 The ribbon with the silver star come from Roy W. Marsh Jr. from the 330/AT (39918454) and the ribbon with the 5 bronze stars from Paul E. Shoemaker (35344115) from the 329/B

Did you know?
The European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Ribbon was affixed with a bronze "Service Star" for each participation in one of the 16 campaigns of the "Western Front".
There was also a variant of this "Star Service". This, in silver, was equivalent to 5 bronze stars.

I never knew who its original owner was but today, I know he was in the Company M with these guys.

I just received the IDPF of PFC Marvin E. Smith, from 331st Inf. Reg., Co. A, died of his wounds in Germany on December 12, 1944.
