@TimothyDowling Any movie failing isn’t good for the industry. However if this was a massive success it only would’ve lead to more uninspired shot for shot live action remakes of modern animated films that we don’t need.
@cabal_elon@TimothyDowling Listen I have no interest in seeing this movie myself but to say nobody busted their ass when it’s loaded with visual effects and sets and actors trying their hardest is just false
@KatStryker111 Or maybe… just maybe… ignore what others have to say about something you enjoy instead of getting mad at them for not having the same experience as you?
Also this movies not doing well at the box office at all rn.
@MarvvVal@shadowknightdk Lmao so you’re saying Disney intentionally made a mediocre movie that would only damage their brand bc they don’t want people of color leading? And I’m the fucking idiot? 😂
@tigercartier@shadowknightdk Just bc they don’t “need” extra money doesn’t mean they aren’t gonna try to make as much as they could. That’s how any major company/corporation works.
@bornposting I mean it checks out. For the people that watched the trailer and decided they wanted to see a live action rendition of Moana they got exactly what they wanted.
@shadowknightdk I mean sure that’s a fair assessment. At the end of the day who’s gonna be more front and center? The guy whose one movie barely broke even and was a critical failure? Or the guy who’s in 2 of the most critically and financially successful solo films in the MCU?
@na81992647@bornposting I used to dislike 2013 for this exact reason but once I viewed it as its own thing, it’s one of the best horror remakes (or reboot) of all time.
Wouldn’t be worth it if someone other than Raimi was trying to make a Raimi-adjacent film
@inceptstellar Someone at the screening I’m going to opening night willingly chose this front row seat when there’s three full rows available and like 5 more decent seats around the theater
@TheJonathanSim@kirkneverdied It’s not necessarily a recap of the first movie, moreso a retcon that sets up the rest of the movie. If it just continues off of the ending of its predecessor it becomes an entirely different film
@iLLuminaughty_V@Clapped_Dre If I buy 6 different tickets to the same movie on different days how is that any less genuine than 6 separate people buying tickets? With your logic literally every movies box office is inflated. I’m not the only person that’s watched a movie in theaters multiple times 😂
