Did you know: On October 14, 1995, the longest 5th Quarter ever took place at The Vet. The Jackson State University Sonic Boom of the South and the Southern University Human Jukebox battled until 2:00 a.m. the following day. Stadium lights were turned out at midnight, and both bands were locked inside the venue to continue battling. Band members had to climb a fence to leave.
According to most accounts, both bands played over 80 songs that day. This year’s Boombox 5th Quarter didn’t last quite that long, but the rivalry is just as intense. We #LuvDaBoom
@isaiahbolden23 Right JSU vs Alcorn is like a family rivalry! It’s friendly lol but SU… naw we can’t stand em! It’s a heated competition from the band and football team.
