Hundreds of thousands of dollars are pouring in for 81-year-old Donald Johnson after the internet found out he was working 14-hour days to help pay for his wife's cancer treatment.

For the past three years, Johnson has delivered lost luggage after struggling to find other work to cover their bills, all while helping care for Josephine, his wife of 57 years.

Then a North Texas resident saw him struggling with the bags and decided to step in, launching a GoFundMe to help with the couple's medical bills and give Johnson a chance to finally retire.

Now, strangers have raised more than $270,000 for the couple.

Johnson says the support could finally let him put down the luggage and spend more time where he wants to be: by his wife's side.
