📖 The book which explains that Rus is Ukraine, and Muscovy is Russia of 1916, printed in Istanbul (second edition) with the map of Ukraine.

📜 This is one of the most famous political-historical works of the beginning of the 20th century, which clearly demarcates Rus-Ukraine and Muscovy-Russia as two different peoples with different history, language, interests and state tradition.

📚 The first edition came out still in 1901 in Lviv (society “Prosvita”) under the name “Rus-Ukraine and Muscovy”. It was very popular both in Galicia and in Naddniprianshchyna — many people recalled that precisely after it “they became conscious Ukrainians”. In 1916, already during the First World War, Tsehelskyi on the order of the Union for the Liberation of Ukraine prepared the second, substantially reworked and supplemented edition with a clearer name “Rus-Ukraine and Muscovy-Russia”.

⚔️ The main idea of the work: Ukrainians and Muscovites are separate peoples, and historical Rus is Ukraine, and not Muscovy. The book was directed against Muscophilism and substantiated the idea of Ukrainian statehood.

👤 Lonhyn Tsehelskyi (1875–1950) — Galician public-political figure, lawyer, journalist, diplomat, one of the builders of Ukrainian statehood of the period of the UNR and ZUNR. He took part in the proclamation of the Act of Unification of 1919. Later he emigrated and died in the USA.
