Nova Scotia’s provincial parks begin opening this Victoria Day weekend.
Most day-use and camping parks open Friday, May 15th, with the rest opening by June 5th. The Natural Resources Minister says the province is making
improvements to amenities and accessibility this year. The budget includes 9-and-a-half million dollars for campsite upgrades, washroom updates and road
work. Provincial parks attract more than a million visitors annually.
Last year, overnight stays topped 100-thousand for the first time.

On March 3, 2026, the Saint John Police arrested a 69-year-old man without incident for the sexual assault of 15 individuals that took place between December 26, 2025, and January 19, 2026, at a senior care facility in Saint John.
The male has been released and placed on conditions pending a court appearance on May 26, 2026.
