Results from Steve Alford's first five seasons at UCLA:
2013-2014: 28-9 (lost in Sweet 16)
2014-2015: 22-14 (lost in Sweet 16)
2015-2016: 15-17 (missed NCAA tourney)
2016-2017: 31-5 (lost in Sweet 16)
2017-2018: 21-12 (lost in First Four)
Thoughts?
There are really only three schools in the country that have consistently recruited better than #UCLA during the Alford era (Duke, Kentucky, Arizona), and yet only UCLA, among that group, is in danger of missing the NCAA Tournament for the second time in three years.
Tournament results are a crapshoot, but since he brought it up: if he doesn't make the Elite Eight this year, Steve Alford will be the only UCLA coach since the Tournament expanded to coach at least five seasons and not make at least an Elite Eight in one of his first five years. https://t.co/rAB9diuf6d
