"When state power aligns with public opinion, can the faith and rights of minorities truly be protected?"
This critical question was raised at an international press conference in Brussels on June 29, 2026.
Titled "Japan: the hidden story behind the eradication of a religion", the event at the Brussels Press Club featured Japanese nonfiction writer Masumi Fukuda and French international human rights lawyer Patricia Duval.
They examined the dissolution order of Japan’s Family Federation, highlighting violations of religious freedom, human rights, and international law.
Fukuda, speaking as a non-believer, presented findings from over 1,200 days of rigorous investigation.
Directed at European human rights experts and journalists, this message goes far beyond one religion.
It urges us to confront the universal importance of the rule of law and the protection of minority rights.
