From the moment I saw this piece in December I knew Whitney Young would bring their top-tier hh artistry to the state floor! Matching and unison is not a problem for these talented athletes. Experts at the visuals of a tight formation. Tantalizing mix of style influences! A gem!
Good luck to all the state bound teams this weekend! All the hard work this season leads up to these performances. As an alumni of the dance team world my advice is to soak it all in, from the warm up to the ending hugs bc you will miss it so much one day❤️
90 teams ready to go! Full sortable stats are up our sectionals dashboard

Thanks so much to our amazing 8CA staffers, and congrats to every single team that took the floor today ❤️ ⭐️ 🏆
There was some genius choreography found in Fremds routine! Loved how the begging movements emulated the ending formation and movement. Those dancers didn't stop moving till the last second and that takes a lot of endurance!!! Great performance today ladies!
That was such a pretty lyrical routine from Conant. It is very difficult to make a soft lyrical dance look sharp and clean but Conant found that balance perfectly. The ending breath was just such a precious moment!
I loved how Palatine's routine had so many intentional contract and release moments in their movement. Each dancer had great control over that movement quality making the dance so great to watch from the audience!
York left everything out on the floor with that routine! The ending soloist turn combo with the team rippling off was such a cool visual to look at from above. A skilled team with technique backing up all their movements!
It has been so much fun to watch Glenbard West's routine grow and grow this season. These dancers are great at articulating those small shape movements that are highlighted with the music so nicely. A "dangerously" great routine!
Want to see an insane turn sequence go watch Lake Park. Whole team changing seconds straight to a knee spin with impeccable timing! Another great example of a team that balances artistry and athleticism so well. Felt like a breath of fresh air on the floor!
Talk about a small but mighty team! Glenbard East had 6 talented dancers on that floor and owned every moment of it. Great use of plie in those jump combinations really shows off their pom technique!
To fill the gym floor it doesn't just involve lots of dancers but a movement quality that is big and demands your attention. That is exactly what Prospect delivered! The skirts added to their eloquent lyrical routine!
Mundelein had me at the edge of my seat till the last second. These girls know how to mix their athleticism with mature artistry far beyond the high school level. I have loved watching this dance grow and evolve this season, the hard work does not go unnoticed!!!
I mean COME ON STEVENSON WOWWW! Seriously this is what true dance athleticism looks like. Beautiful choreography, technique, soloist, and a routine packed to the max with tricks that seem humanly impossible. A goosebumps worthy dance!
A hauntingly good routine from Waukegan. A great example of what it looks like to really punch every motion! The little shuffle movement in the begging gave me all the creepy feels!
Warren has a routine full of visuals with the white gloves contrast to full black outfits. Brining some tutting elements, intertwined with a high-energy hip hop routine filled with tricks on top of tricks!
One of the most artistically diverse dances I have seen this season from Schaumburg. This team had total control of their music and knew how to bring out every beat. Great formation changes from the X to the line back out to the X!
Glenbard North delivering a sharp jazz routine with lots of cheers from their fan section! Full team movement is often hard to clean and the dancers were completely in sync with each other, definitely raising the difficulty!
The Livestream is back and running for Deerfield 3A (2). A stacked sectional line up coming up with many state-performing teams! I will get 3A (1) awards out as soon as we get those details in. Thank you for your patience!!!
