I understand the fact that you paid for the image and don’t want others using it, but wouldn’t it be fair to say that (despite the artist being the creator of the work for you) the entire concept of protecting the art from being copied saved and reposted completely failed? I found the pic on a completely different site from completely different accounts, no amount of policing will get those accounts removed because the internet is forever. There isn’t even a watermark on the pic for Christ’s sake. I’m an internet user too, and tbh I am thrilled that the post went viral bc that’s exposure to my account - even if I don’t post art whatsoever. The entire situation has been petty and very hard to believe, up until you unprivated and I found the original artists page. I am an individual with my own desires, and frankly, taking the post down will only negatively benefit me because I’d lose traction on the whole Malfoid meme. I’ve been posting other Malfoid memes with the hopes of them also going viral, so maybe I can keep the trend going because I’m absolutely in love with this trend. My whole tweet would’ve completely flied under your notice if you or your friends would’ve reacted positively instead of negatively, immediately demanding that I delete my post and to report the post/my account. It’s hostile and unbecoming, and every interaction tested my patience. I am truly sorry that it went viral like this and got this attention, I didn’t mean to hurt you, but face the facts and reality. The content will continue to be copied and reuploaded even if I delete this post, because the artist has the post public and without a watermark, almost as if COMPLETELY giving up their claim to it. Why the fuck would they do that. Imagine if I acted out of more hostile intent and ACTUALLY tried to steal it, not use it for a meme. That’s why signatures and watermarks exist, and copyright law falls flat when the art can’t be verified outside of you claiming it to be so, that’s what watermarks are for. Again, I’m not claiming these images to be my own, far from it, but I’m annoying and am also a human who feels hostility towards my person and my judgement has weighed this whole situation to be fruitless, tactless, and extremely petty. Of which I’m trying to find the reason to continue interacting with, when only you and the artist have been the only ones who’ve even remotely tried to ask nicely. I’m not part of your community nor do I want to be, so for the sake of your own sanity, ask your followers to leave me the fuck alone.
