The thing is the bad things other people did/do in the name of your religion did so because the same book you believe in told them it was their moral duty to do so.
It's similar to someone believing the words of Mein Kamph and saying why are you worried about me when I disagree with all the atrocities Nazis did?
Okay, that's great, but you still think Mein Kamph is a good book.
And before anyone gets their knickers in a twist, no, I'm not saying the Quran is comparable to Mein Kamph. I'm just comparing the concept of a booking instructing readers to do bad things, and then readers of those books being confused when people worry about how you might react to believing those words are true.
It's the same with the left when they attack Christians for not believing in abortion.
Really, the only way you can be a Muslim and assure other people you don't believe in the harsher things in the Quran is to speak against those bad things in the Quran and Hadiths. But interestingly, even among the Muslims who claim not to believe in the bad things, I've come across very few who will actually denounce the bad things in the Quran and Hadiths. Who will say, no it is wrong to punish people for being gay, or no, a man should never hit a woman etc. At most they'll say they don't agree with Islamic terrorist actions, but there's never any reflection. They never ask, is there anything in our religious teachings that's pushing so many of our followers to murder and harm people, and is there anything we can do as a religious community to stop it? They never speak up and say, guys, maybe we should think about taking some of the passages out of the Quran and Hadiths that are being used to harm and kill so many across the world.
Motive for things matter, and when the motive for horrific crimes comes from a religious canon 1000s of times every single year, refusal to consider changing that religious canon while promoting it becomes complicity.
I was thinking similarly today. I don't mind societal progress when it happens naturally–computers, phones, vehicle safety, medicine, petrol/diesel cars etc. What I can't stand is government enforced societal progression (which often actually tends to have consequences that force society backwards) which is what we are currently going through—trans movement, English no longer exist, infinity migration or you're racist, special rules for black and brown people or you're racist, paedophiles don't need prison, no fossil fuels and limited technology even though that will do nothing to save the planet etc. I don't think any society ultimately survives state enforced progress without war. Any kind of state enforced ideology/lifestyle is doomed to fail eventually, because eventually the state always pushes too far and the people revolt. We've seen it throughout history and now many of us have to watch as that same history plays out and our leaders continue to blunder on with enforcement after enforcement, human trafficking after human human trafficking, completely changing our society and lifestyles, and wholly ignoring us as we scream at them that if they carry on, they will cause war. But they won't listen. They think they are morally right and so will continue to push and push, and they'll act outraged and surprised when the people start fighting back and saying no. We're literally seeing it now with the protests at landing sites. I don't think it will be long before our emergency services staff start walking away in protest as well, like the firefighters in France did. And much of the army are not on the side of the government either. They are in the sense of serving their country, but if came down to choosing their government or countrymen, my bet is they'll choose the latter.
The government need to close the borders, deport every foreign criminal and all those on the terror watchlist, as well as those who are not working and cannot speak English. At the same time, they need to get the sentencing Council in order so all crimes are punished properly again. Put a stop to all the hate crime nonsense and focus on punishing violent crime harshly. And all laws an md legal hiring practises must be applied equally to all. None of this special rules for Sikhs or Muslims or Jews or gay people or black/brown people or women etc. It's the only way to get the country in order.
It's not about them being hit. I couldn't care less about that. It's the fact she's showing off her butt cheeks—a private body part. The amount of times I've seen little girls wearing the same thing is crazy, and it's highly disturbing every time. My children should not have to feel uncomfortable because women and girls want to get their private body parts out in public. And it's crazy that I have to say it. Mothers are supposed to be an example to children, not a bad influence.
There is no chance to fix it now either. The whole of the UK could stop every type of usage of fossil fuel tomorrow and it would make no difference at all to the climate. Giving the British government more money will not save you! It's just sad that you think it will. If you truly care about fossil fuel use then go to China or one of the other countries using the most and protest there. Don't concentrate your work in an area that literally has no power to make the changes you require to 'save the planet'. That just makes you look like a lonely middle aged cat lady who is only harping on about this because she's bored and it keeps her from evaluating her life choices.
@donmcgowan What happened?
You and people like you decided it was racist for English people to exist as an ethnic group.
That's literally all that happened.
They're not. They want to know why the state and the left thing a crime with no victims is worse than child rape. In fact, theyd also like to know why throwing a plastic bottle at police and writing words that hurt peoples feelings on X are also worse than child rape according to our justice system and the left. Care to shed any light on why?
And yet they and their descendants managed to discover and invent almost everything we have in nearly every society today. They and their descendant gave us the comfort and good lives we have today, with knowledge and communication at the end of our fingertips.
Pretty amazing, huh?
It's nothing to do with skin colour and everything to do with biological facts.
The English are Europeans. Europeans have white skin. I don't know this fact upsets people do much, but it doesn't make it less true.
Now, you can have a mixed race person who is part European, part, African. Or part European, part Asian, and they can have brown skin.
But it is biologically impossible for an African to be English. It is also biologically impossible for an English person to be an African, or an Asian to be African, or an African to be an Asian.
That's not the fault of white people on the 'far right'. Nor is it evil for people to state biology exists and they want their laws and society to acknowledge that.
Also, not being English is not a bad thing, therefore it cannot be an insult or racist to say someone is not English. The only way it can be an insult is if you think the English are superior to all other races. If you think it's an insult to call an Indian an Indian, then you must believe to be Indian is a bad thing.
Same for your skin colour argument. If it upsets you that black people cannot be English, why is that? Do you think it's a bad thing if they and other people don't pretend they're English? What do you expect them to do regarding their true ancestry? Ignore it? Abandon it? Celebrate it at the same time they and everyone else pretends they are English? Would it not just be easier to live in an honest society that welcomes foreign people who come here who are good people who work hard? Does that not sound better than telling every human being on the planet they can be English if they want a better life, then paying for their lives once they get here?
@ChappyLaffyDuck@ReformUKSam So politicians get in trouble for labelling citizens slurs? If that's the case, why is there no investigation and media outrage over the Prime Minister labelling a man legally innocent until proven guilty a 'racist'?
Yes, but it has to be proven they knowingly lied. Look at that Steven Avery case. He went to prison for 18 years partly because a woman misidentified him—after police convinced her he was her attacker. Sometimes mistakes are made in identification of attackers. We have to make allowances for that.
It's because it's safe for them to be outraged. The government allow unlimited hatred against white people and everyone knows it, so it's safe to go after white criminals and to make small incidents massive as long as a white person committed them. The moment a non-white person does these things, these people shut up because they either know they'll get shunned by their groups or they're so far into their indoctrination they genuinely believe they have to give allowances to non-whites that they would never give to white people.
Our governments have managed to convince people that 1.treating non-whites differently is racist, and 2. Non-white people must be given special privileges and treated differently because they are incapable of living up to the standards of white people.
It's such a racist mindset and yet they use it as a weapon of 'anti-racism'.
It truly is mind-blowing.
