Slumords like Millennia continue to receive tax breaks from the City of Memphis without any protections for residents. The Memphis Towers Tenants Union says no more business as usual!

These people did not have to lose their lives, and that is as much on HUD as it is on @LiveMillennia. Everyone who has ever been harmed by these monsters deserves justice!

I encourage folx at properties owned by Millennia (or any slumlord) in other parts of the country to find the corresponding board(s) in their area and bring their concerns to them. You never know the difference you could make!
#ResistMillennia!
This is just one means of holding Millennia accountable, but it is a huge deal because entities that provide these types of incentives are notorious for not taking tenant concerns into account. 4/
And though reps from Millennia did their best to undermine our concerns (even going so far as to gaslight us and outright lie about issues at Memphis Towers), we were able to convince the board not to extend Housing Revenue Bonds to two of their other properties in the city. 3/
My comrade Alex from @901TenantUnion and I just gave public comment about conditions at Memphis Towers at the meeting of the Health, Educational and Housing Facility Board. 1/
OUR EYES ARE STAYING ON THE PRIZE, DON'T MESS WITH THE RIGHT TO ORGANIZE! ๐ฅ Our heartfelt appreciation to @SteveMulroy901 for his recent letter. Tenant leader Ms. Joyce has it FRAMED in her apartment!
@901TenantUnion are fighting out-of-state landlords illegally attempting to prevent tenants from organizing for better living conditions here in Memphis.
We need better protections for renters at a Municipal, State, and Federal Level.

Latest from my colleague @StacyJacobsonTV Memphis Towers is owned by the same company that runs Serenity Towers where we've documented numerous problems over the years.

MEMPHIS We need your help! Tenants at Memphis Towers, a Section 8-backed property owned by Millenia Housing Companies, have been organizing to fight for a safe, secure, and healthy home.
On Friday 3/31, a group of tenants from the union delivered a demands letter to management.
Call Millenial Housing and tell them this is unacceptable. Demand that they end all harassment from Memphis Towers management, and that all retaliatory eviction notices are voided immediately.
