Latest observations indicate that the front sector of the Deep Depression is entering into the land. Thus, the landfall process has commenced, which will continue for next 03 hours. The deep depression is crossing north Andhra Pradesh and south Odisha coasts between Visakhapatnam and Gopalpur close to southwest of Kalingapatnam

❖ The monsoon trough is near its normal position at mean sea level.
❖ Yesterday’s Low-Pressure Area over Southwest Uttar Pradesh & neighbourhood now lay over central parts of Uttar Pradesh at 0830 hrs IST of today, the 07th September 2026.
❖ A trough from south Gujarat to cyclonic circulation associated with Low Pressure area over central parts of Uttar Pradesh in lower tropospheric levels.
❖ The Western Disturbance as a cyclonic circulation over Kashmir & neighbourhood in middle tropospheric level persists.
❖ Another Western Disturbance as a trough in upper tropospheric level with its axis in middle tropospheric
level runs roughly along Long. 75°E to the north of Lat. 29°N.
❖ The trough from south Telangana to Gulf of Mannar in lower tropospheric level persists.
❖ An upper air cyclonic circulation lies over northeast Bihar & neighbourhood in lower tropospheric levels.
❖ An upper air cyclonic circulation lies over west Assam & neighbourhood in lower tropospheric level. Under the influence of above systems, the following weather is likely:

The morning"s low pressure area formed over Northwest Bay of Bengal & neighbourhood at 0530 Hrs IST , persisted over the same region at 0830 hrs IST of today, the 23rd August 2026.

It is likely to move nearly northwestwards across North Odisha and adjoining Gangetic West Bengal during next 24 hours.

Depression over coastal West Bengal and adjoining areas of Bangladesh & northwest Bay of Bengal moved north-northwestwards with a speed of 18 kmph during past 6 hours and lay centred at 1730 hrs IST of today, the 17th August, 2026, over northern parts of Gangetic West Bengal & neighbourhood, near latitude 23.6°N and longitude 87.7°E, close to south of Shanti Niketan (West Bengal), about 70 km east-northeast of Bankura (West Bengal), 90 km south-southeast of Dumka (Jharkhand), 130 km east of Dhanbad (Jharkhand) and 130 km east-northeast of Purulia (West Bengal).

It is very likely to move northwestwards for some time and then west-northwestwards across Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand and Bihar during next 24 hours.
