“Tout le monde disait que cette équipe était la meilleure de l’histoire du Portugal, mais en quoi ? Qu’ont-ils gagné ? On rentre à la maison, la tête baissée. Le mieux, c’est que je m’arrête là, sinon je vais dire des choses que je vais regretter plus tard. »
— Ricardo Quaresma
A common trend across international football has always been the amount of under qualified and clueless managers. There is probably no better example of that than Roberto Martinez.
A clown who has been a categorical failure throughout his career and somehow got a chance to manage this Portuguese golden generation.
My personal opinion, no matter what anyone else thinks. When this man had a fully fit back line he was able to make his attackers, regardless of who they were, play with a fluidity and coherence that our current manager could only dream of.
It fell apart because we were playing with any number Gray, Spence, Dragusin or Davies at centre back for 3 months of the season. By which time, the premier league was a hopeless case and all focus turned to Europe. Why some people choose to forget this, I have no idea. He would 100% be doing better with the players we have now.
I’d take him back in a heartbeat. Even if it was just til the end of the season
@WislaKrakowAlez Genuinely one of the most creative and consistent players in the squad. Admittedly not a great defender but we’d do well to find a better RB on our budget
Want to see where the Ange Out fans will stand at the end of the summer when we’ve (1) lost Romero, (2) done fuck all in the transfer market, and (3) hired a mid-table manager with ZERO UCL experience
@_4Jords Serial winner Thomas Frank? Marco Silva? Who do you genuinely think we will hire that would be an improvement? Any coach with an ounce of pedigree would be wise to steer well clear of this circus
In one announcement the club has single handedly disbanded the dressing room, deflated the entire fanbase, and set the team back years in our footballing development. One year of UCL football followed by decades of mid table mediocrity
we were told that the loser of that final would have insane fallout and be able to do no business
united lost and are making 2 marquee signings by the start of june
we won, sacked our manager, and have shown 0 interest in the transfer market
please somebody make it make sense
