@Savageboston The Julian Hill thing probably has him thinking about get paid before any potential injury. Usually OTAs and minicamps don't results in major injuries, but Hill's case shows that things happen
@CptAncapistan So it's complicated. There are reasons to honor that war. Nazis bad, and they were defeated by our grandparents shortly after surviving the great depression. There are darker reasons to push propaganda, as it has been use as a justification for the US's foreign policy post WWII
@CptAncapistan While I understand your frustration, I also understand the fetishation. 1) the narrative is presented as a clear example of the US being the good guys, fighting evil Nazis. Very few wars have a clear villain on the other side.
@CptAncapistan 3) It justifies the imperial nature of the US. This is a stark contrast from US foreign policy prior to WW II. It justifies all of our pre-emptive wars and justifies us being the world police
@CptAncapistan 2) many of our grandparents fought in this war. After living through the great depression. Helps add to the lore of the greatest generation while honoring family legacy
@bren45000 In the interview, he questions how Tyler Robinson was able to walk up the stairs to the roof and not encounter security. He said he spidermanned off the roof. At least watch the video to actually create propaganda that cannot be instantly proven to be a lie
@JSlaughterEsq WWII definitely matters. If you want to make the argument that the version taught to students is propagandized, you can make that argument. But WWII has shaped the modern war and more importantly US government and society.
@CO101Initiative@ConceptualJames The original bill of rights did not give all people the right to vote. Not even all white men. It was land-owning white men. Jackson had to push to extend it to all white men
@ConceptualJames Tim Pool shitposts on his twitter all the time. I'm not the biggest Tim Pool fan, but listen to his show, and he explains how he uses polls like this to show the insanity or polarization of society.
@ConceptualJames Or, and hear me out, maybe the Israel lobby spending millions of dollars to oust him made him bitter. The self-fulfilling prophecy of victimhood strikes again
@ToriatheistTori because made it a priority to hire minorities instead of the most skilled pilots. It doesn't mean that black people can't be good pilots. But when you treat race as an attribute, people will naturally wonder about the skills of that person.
@BenchwarmerBran They are unregulated and there can be fraud (see George Santos betting on himself to not go to the State of the Union after posting that he was going). But the diffuse market knowledge that is aggregated by people actually willing to put money on something is very powerful
@JeremyDBoreing This isn't erasing history. It's about a generation that won't give up power while simultaneously being wildly out of touch with the concerns of the younger generations. Boomers have literally been running this country since 1992.
