We need to raise the alarms. Abuja is surrounded already. Niger, Kwara, Nassarawa, Kogi, and Kaduna have all had incidents this week. We need to pay attention now. They are trying to take the capital!!
Trump cutting funds to PEPFAR, what does it mean?
Nigeria has the world's second highest number of people living with HIV.
If you don't treat HIV, almost everyone affected will develop AIDS.
To treat HIV, they need ART drugs and these drugs have become so effective that a HIV positive person can no longer transmit the virus if the level of the virus is suppressed.
These drugs are expensive, so a lot of the drugs available are donated to us.
Now that donation has been cut, what does this mean?
If Nigeria doesn't rise to the occasion and take charge:
1. Infections will rise, currently it's close to 200000 infections every year
2. People will die from AIDS, drugs are not available.
3. Our already burdened healthcare system will be burdened further which might be make or break.
These are just a snippet of the ripple effect. Let's not forget that diseases like tuberculosis and malaria are being affected also by the pause of funding.
Now is the time to take our health system seriously, the second best time was yesterday.
Nigeria can not continue to depend on donations for its own healthcare.
For Muna’s birthday, I gave her a book of curated photographs that I’ve made of her spanning 4 years. There are QR codes on some of the pages and they lead to some of her favorite songs so technically the book is also a playlist. 🖤
In this country you literally have to learn to do almost everything yourself!!
A whole printing business and you’re altering the design without speaking to the client first and printing it like that!! How!!😡😡 To deliver on time problem to print the design problem!! I’m tired🤦🏿♀️
Happy International Women’s Day to every woman out here. To the women perceived as stubborn, to the women perceived as too loud, too quiet, too much, not enough, too strong, not strong enough, you’re exactly who you’re supposed to be. Happy International Women’s Day💜
Shoutout to the women with gynaecological conditions. Women living with PCOS, dysmenorrhea, endometriosis, fibroids, pelvic floor disorder, and other women related medical conditions. I hope more research and funding goes into addressing these conditions. You (we) matter. ❤️
Today is the last day of the December 2023 internship!
For the past 3 months, these amazing folks have contributed to several #OpenSource & #OpenScience projects. They have learned and grown in their careers, both technically & non-technically.
Congratulations to you all! 🥳
If as a man, you die and you leave a Will for your family, your side-chick can contest that Will if and if she can prove in court that you’ve been sending her money monthly via bank statement.
Provisions are made for beneficiaries and dependents.
She falls under dependents.
I’m just learning this now now 😃
She is only 22. Married, 3 kids and bakes her husband cinnamon rolls to surprise him. She is living the life every girl thought they would be living at that age when we were kids.
