May 31 to June 6 is National AccessAbility Week.
It is an opportunity to promote accessibility and inclusion across communities and workplaces and celebrate the contributions of people with disabilities. We also recognize the work of allies, organizations, and communities that are actively working to remove barriers to accessibility and inclusion.
The County is committed to fostering an inclusive community where people of all abilities can participate in every aspect of public life and access municipal services, supports, spaces, and programs in ways that promote independence and dignity.
Since 2011, a passionate group of volunteers have worked together to help make our community a safe, welcoming, and inclusive place for all. These volunteers formed the Accessibility Advisory Committee (AAC).
The AAC and municipal staff work together to identify and remove barriers while advancing accessibility in programs, services, and public spaces because access matters for everyone.
Creating a barrier‑free Prince Edward County is the goal. Follow along with us this week as we celebrate National AccessAbility Week and continue the work to build an inclusive future.

Community | It's School Crossing Guard Appreciation Week! 🚸
This week, we are celebrating the important role that our crossing guards play in ensuring students get to school safely. Rain, snow or shine, they are out there helping pedestrians navigate busy intersections and brightening the day of everyone who passes by.
Please join us in showing appreciation to all of the crossing guards in our community!
