Breaking news - a small explosive has gone off at the Santa Maria courthouse. No injuries are reported. Santa Barbara County Sheriff's deputies are mobilizing rapidly in the area. A suspect has been detained. Other locations are being checked for more explosives.

A highlight in 2023 came when I made special deliveries of lunch for ten to winners on the KJEE 92.9 morning show. It was part of a Three Pickles promotion. The final stop of the year was delivered to Rick and the crew at the Goodland Barber Shop in Goleta.
Santa Barbara's waterfront businesses stay open even with a tidal overflow getting into several parking lots. On the Alley, Shoreline Cafe, Brophy Bros., Anchor Rose are among those keeping the lights on. But it was close, with the very strong ocean surge.
Santa Barbara is draining off after some of the most intense rain and flooding it has seen in a long time. The 9 AM hour was a gusher. Multiple intersections, underpass, crossings, and streets that do not normally flood were under water.
One lane is closed northbound Hwy 101 in Montecito where a piece of the asphalt is broken. Repairs are planned, but it's raining and a difficult spot. There are only two lanes in this section. https://t.co/tDZjGRf3xv
