Tropical Depression Nine will become Tropical Storm Imelda today. Model guidance continues to show a sharp easterly turn prior to moving into our area. We will still feel some impacts from this system Mon/Tue, but far less significant compared to a direct landfall.
FIRST ALERT// Tropical Update // Good news on the models and trends to keep what will become Imelda off the coast. Some impacts are still expected with possible heavy rainfall, gusty winds and dangerous surf. We will keep you posted.
Tropical Depression 9 will likely become Tropical Storm Imelda this weekend. With Humberto expected to be a strong hurricane & the upper level low weakening, am models keep the system offshore. How close it gets along with the speed will determine our impacts on Monday/Tuesday.
There has been a shift east with computer guidance this morning. However, many models show the system slowing down before being pulled east due to Humberto early next week. Regardless if the system makes landfall or not, we still have a potential to see heavy rain and gusty wind.
We are asking for the public's help identifying this person of interest in connection with the fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University.
