George Russell on Ferrari: โTheir pace was not โโ
Kimi Antonelli: โThey were so slow, they were deploying weirdly. I almost crashed with Leclerc into Turn 1 in Lap 2. Because of the speed difference, I was probably 30kph up.โ
Bendera berkibar ketika insiden terjadi adalah single-yellow dulu. Kemudian barulah kalau situasinya terlihat parah & bahaya, double-yellow keluar.

17:00:45, diez segundos despuรฉs, declaran bandera amarilla DOBLE.
Marcus Dudley is NOT fulfilling the basic roles of a Race Engineer, and Austria FP1 only highlighted it.
His only response when Russell radioed for setup suggestions was, โ๐๐ช๐จ๐ฉ ๐ฉ๐๐๐ฃ๐ ๐๐๐ค๐ช๐ฉ โฆ ๐ฌ๐๐๐ฉ ๐๐ผ๐ ๐๐๐ฃ ๐๐ค ๐ฌ๐๐ฉ๐ ๐๐ผ๐๐ฟ ๐ฉ๐ค๐ค๐ก๐จ,โ and IMMEDIATELY moved on to count down from 7 to 1. (left vid)

Compare this with Bono in the same session. He had found potential problems in his data, asked the driver FIRST if he was feeling the same, and ๐ผ๐ณ๐ณ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐๐ถ๐๐ต๐ผ๐๐ ๐ฝ๐ฟ๐ผ๐บ๐ฝ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ผ ๐ณ๐ถ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ฎ ๐๐ฒ๐-๐๐ฝ ๐๐ผ๐น๐๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป โ and he found one immediately. (right vid)
Most Race Engineers lean more towards the latter.
They also, like Bono, constantly feed their driver data on WHERE they were losing pace compared to his teammate, and HOW they could improve.
They also DO NOT mess up their driversโ Strat Modes.
They constantly suggest Set-Up improvements.
THEY ANSWER THEIR DRIVERSโ QUESTIONS.
Marcus Dudley does none of these.
Him explicitly ignoring Russellโs questions about his pitstop in the Monaco GP cost the driver not only a podium, but also a points finish.
He NEVER informs Russell about a specific corner that could be hindering his pace compared to his teammate; the best he does is offer a single lap time. His teammate, on the other hand, is guided through every opportunity.
There are multiple instances within any single session in F1 where Dudley prioritizes counting from 5 to 1 backwards OVER answering his driverโs question. Why he is so fixated on counting every number, I do not understand. His primary role is in communication - REPLYING TO QUESTIONS surely must be of utmost priority.
