Fires have functioned as forest management for many thousands of years, even before matches, blow torches and arson. Fly on a jet from St John's to Victoria on a clear day and look down out the window. For at least 9 hours you will see nothing but forest (with debris). You would need a lot of chainsaws.
@JasminLaine Canada's vast forests have been continuously managed of thousands of years, by fire. Predominant forest species have competitive advantages from fires. People with chainsaws clearing a few thousand acres here and there to protect communities do not have much overall effect.
@WDS225@EricLDaugh@JustinTrudeau That's not polite. Actually, I didn't even go in the trap for my ball. I wasn't sure if that would disturb the alligator.
@JoMassanari @ShadowofEzra I remember a landing in a DC-9 with turbulence and a crosswind. The first touchdown was soft but the plane bounced in the air a few times and finally came down so hard that some of the overhead bins popped open. The pilot announced the co-pilot was the one who landed the plane.
@RobertGKepes@Concern70732755 There is a war on fossil fuels. The weapon is a narrative, despite science. CO2 is vital for life but the narrative is very lucrative to the UN and tax-happy govts. CO2 would interact with radiation at cold temps mostly in the thinner atmosphere where it is essentially absent.
@Concern70732755 I got monthly data from the EC website. I am doing regressions on over 1.7 million mean temps from 1900 to 2023 by yr, mo, prov and sub-areas. There is lots of scatter and the slopes of the lines are + or - near 0.00. R -Sqrs are low. So far, I call hoax.
@EdNutter4@PizzaManDanault He has great hands in front of the net, he is good at diving to draw penalties, and has a great ego. Forget it if you want more than that. Iafalo is outrageously overpaid for a 4th liner and Valardi and Kupari were always injured, but still, it was a great trade for Winnipeg.
@seanoconnor77@JFreshHockey The PK was brutal and they need scoring. They got skaters who can't score and acquired a scorer that skates slow. It puts a lot of pressure on top line and #44
@TheChandlerDude@LeslynLewis I am curious to know what UN General Council resolutions you have supported lately and if you know where the money goes? Some committees may have merit but which ones? They need funding to uphold their exacting standards. But don't be a fascist and ask about them.
@M_M_MacFadyen@CraigBaird Good heavens. And some of the ultra sanctimonious among us just can't accept that people who actually did things weren't all racist so their legacies must be cancelled. Do you have the same suspicions about the White House.
@longlivechile@csofthealing@NormalGuy223 Really. Aren't you special. I got my 3 jabs. Still, I was not allowed to see my Dad who couldn't see his family except when they were waving at his window while standing in the snow. Cut off from anything he cared about he quit walking and eating he chose to die. He was alone.
@Terry__MC@Lunchisnotfree@BobIrvingCJOB@NHLJets Hey Terry MC, it's basically the same team that destroyed your Oilers last time they met in the playoffs. Probably still could have done it even without Morrissey or Scheifele.
@Terry__MC@Lunchisnotfree@BobIrvingCJOB@NHLJets DeJa'Vu. I remember Hawerchuk's last game as a Jet. He was the Jets' best player but the media had turned on him and a mediocre coach benched him for most of the game and he was run out of town. Don't listen to the media. WTF do they know about the dressing room?
@BobIrvingCJOB Bowness has never been able to stick with any organization for good reason. His systems didn't match his players skills and he was out coached.
