Today marks 32 days since 47 schoolchildren and their teacher were abducted from Yawota and Ahoro-Eselele communities in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

Sadly, they are now 46 children after their teacher, Mr. Michael Oyedokun, was reportedly recorded being beheaded by the kidnappers. Thirty-two days later, the remaining children are still in captivity.

Thirty-two nights in the terrorist den. Thirty-two mornings waking up afraid, not knowing if help will come.

It feels too familiar. We remember how it started with the Chibok girls in 2014. We counted days then too. “Day 10, Day 50, Day 200.” We marched, we cried, we promised “never again.” But till today, some of those girls are still missing.

Their parents are still counting, still hoping.

Now we’re counting again. Day 1, Day 15, Day 32… for these children in Oyo state, and across the nation.

Will we still be counting them next year? Will another set of parents join this painful club?

The people sworn to protect us are busy with politicking, campaigns, and reelection, while our children rot in the bush, inside the thick forest of Old Oyo National Park.

When will it stop? When will a child’s safety matter more than votes?

When will our children and teachers be rescued?

I hereby call on the chief security officer of Oyo State, Governor Seyi makinde to show workings on the rescue of these children and their teachers.

Auxiliary was not just associated with the government; he was appointed Chairman of the PMS Disciplinary Committee under Governor Seyi Makinde's administration. Yet, when his residence was raided, items allegedly linked to criminal activities were reportedly recovered.

So how is that worse than attempts to link Oriyomi Hamzat to someone merely seen in a video with him, without any official relationship or appointment?

Oriyomi Hamzat's credibility is well known. Smear campaigns and guilt by association will not change the facts.

The national leadership of Accord rejects the Federal High Court Abuja judgement on the de-registration of five political parties including Accord as a travesty of justice. It shall not stand.

The judgement was delivered in flagrant disregard of the subsisting Court of Appeal stay of proceedings order on the matter.

It is curious that the Federal High Court would proceed to deliver judgement on a matter before the appellant court that had granted a stay of proceedings aware that the delivery of the judgement was part of the proceedings of the Court. The court is the temple of justice governed by the rule of law and due process, not fiat.

Accordingly, Accord will challenge the contentious judgement hurriedly delivered in disobedience of the appellant court order. The party's legal team has commenced action to overturn the ruling.

More importantly, Accord is not affected in the suit filed by the so-called National Forum of Former Legislators as the party won two councillorship elections in Jigawa State which fulfilled extant constitutional and electoral frameworks.

Accord assures its members, candidates and supporters that the party will be on ballot in the Ekiti and Osun governorship elections, and the 2027 generals election etc.

The party will continue its preparation for the upcoming elections, particularly the flag off of the Imole campaign scheduled for Tuesday, 16th June 2026, in Osun State. The attempt to distract our great party by anti-democratic and reactionary forces has failed once again and will continue to fail.

Accord offers hope for millions of citizens desirous of good governance, compassionate leadership, economic prosperity and national security.

Accord will continue to uphold the rule of law, promotes multiparty democracy in Nigeria and resists any attempt to undermine the nation's hard earned constitutional governance.

Governor Adeleke Says Deregistration Ruling Violates Court of Appeal Order.

Governor Ademola Adeleke has described that judgement of the Federal High Court deregistering five political parties as an abuse of court process and direct violation of a subsisting order of the Court of Appeal.

In a statement issued in response to the ruling the governor said the Appeal Court had made an order for the stay of proceedings by the Federal High Court, more particularly the said judgment that was delivered, expressing surprise that the lower court still proceeded to deliver a ruling on a matter already acted upon by the Court of Appeal.

It is on record before Honourable Justice Peter Lifu J that in the record of proceedings of the Court of Appeal of 22nd May, 2026 and which was put before his Lordship as Exhibit MAC 2 the Court of Appeal specifically pronounced that "The delivery of the judgement is still part of the proceedings of the Court. "

The governor urges the people to be calm as the Court of Appeal is taking up the matter tomorrow Tuesday, assuring the public that this “efforts to stop Osun people from exercising their voting rights will fail by the specialgraceofAlmightyGod. The Rule of Law and Humanity shall prevail at the end of the day.

“ I call on Osun people to remain calm and be assured that our rights will be affirmed and our party, the Accord will be on the ballot on August 15th.

“We will not only be on the ballot, we will win overwhelmingly the forthcoming governorship election. We should remain calm and forge ahead with mobilisation of our people.

“I also want to assure our people that the flag off of our campaign is holding as scheduled tommorow. They want to distract us. We are going ahead and we are winning this election”, the state governor posited.

WHO REALLY BROUGHT SHEIKH GUMI TO IBADAN?

I have come across several malicious attacks targeted at the person of Oriyomi Hamzat, and I believe a clarification has become necessary to address these coordinated attempts at misinformation and character assassination.

I believe that constructive criticism is part of public life, especially in politics but deliberate distortion of facts, emotional manipulation, and sponsored attacks should never replace honest conversations about leadership, governance, and the future of our state.

Let me put out these facts:

Sheikh Gumi came to Ibadan on November 19, 2025, for the Southwest Muslims Ulama Summit, a gathering of Islamic scholars, chief imams, and national Muslim leaders. Oriyomi Hamzat, a broadcaster, had nothing to do with it.

Gumi travels only with government escorts. Every checkpoint he passes, every federal facility he enters, is approved by the Nigerian state. His previous role with the Nigerian Hajj Commission proves he is a federally recognized religious figure, not a private invitee.

The summit was held at the University of Ibadan, a federal institution, fully cleared by authorities. Meanwhile, Oyo State, with its own security networks, said nothing, silence equals consent.

Blaming Oriyomi Hamzat is convenient, but false. The federal government brought Gumi, Oyo State allowed it, and ORIYOMI HAMZAT had zero involvement. The real power behind Gumi’s visit is clear, it’s not a broadcaster, it’s the state.

Independent media houses were present at the venue, yet not a single credible clip or visual evidence has surfaced showing Oriyomi Hamzat there, while several other personalities at the event were clearly captured and circulated online.

At this point, one has to question the motive behind these claims. If an event was heavily covered and others were visibly recorded, how is it that the individual being accused suddenly became “invisible” to every camera present?

Criticism should be based on verifiable facts, not assumptions, propaganda, or emotionally driven narratives. It is very unfair and hypocritical to push accusations without credible proof simply because it suits a particular agenda.
