If Caitlin Clark leaves the @WNBA, her fans will undoubtedly follow her. In addition to the revenue she generates, many international teams would eagerly want to sign her. Her safety is far more important than playing in a league that fails to protect its players.

Players should not be assaulted on the court. It appears that the league may be trying to push her out, or perhaps the referees are biased, as they are not calling fouls consistently. It even raises the question of whether the referees are being influenced by the league; clearly, they are not doing their job properly.

This situation is unacceptable, and harsher action is needed. The response has been too mild. What if the incident had crushed her windpipe or, worse, led to her death on the court?
