My biggest gripe with the PFP NFT space, that I have been quite vocal about, is that marketing, mystery, speculation is what led to higher prices, not honesty, transparency and quality.

It has not been building in public, or building alongside your community; the playbook is being a hype-man and a good marketer.

This has to change for the space to mature. People here are easily manipulated by big claims and twisted words. I feel for a lot of people today, but also feels like a realization in a lot of people's minds of what I am talking about.

No, I don't see it as "generous" to give a memecoin allocation to NFT holders, when you fabricated a token with no utility, and get 30% allocation of it worth 8-9 figures yourself; that is what I call gaslighting.

Especially when the liquidity pool people are buying this memecoin with is shared between people who buy/hold your NFTs. It also ruined the collectorship aspect of the NFTs.. and you're tying the brand to a memecoin that history says, 99.99% of all memecoins in the history of crypto have trended to zero. Memecoins run off attention only, and that can only sustain for so long.

The Digital Art side has less issue with this, because the art is the art and very rarely are there any further claims by the artist of what else that gets you.

I think the PFP/brand side can grow and have projects that compile value over time, but it has to grow through transparency, honesty and alignment.
