When Lee Kuan Yew told Singaporeans he would turn their small, poor, resource lacking island into a global financial capital, they thought he was delusional. When Park Chung-hee pushed South Korea through painful industrial reform in the 1960s, his own people PROTESTED in the streets. Both nations came out the other side as economic miracles. The pain was the price. Kenya is paying its price right now. This is how great nations are built. Not through comfort. Through the unbearable tension of becoming something you have never been before. Kenya is in that moment right now and most of us are too comfortable with small thinking to see it.
