More FAAC in naira does NOT automatically mean more purchasing power.

That is the point Seyi Makinde made in Lafia.

Nigeria’s FAAC allocations may be higher in nominal naira terms, but the naira has also lost substantial value while food, fuel, transport, fertiliser and other essential costs have surged.

So the real question is not: “How many naira did states receive?”

It is: “What can that allocation actually buy today?”

A bigger nominal allocation in a weaker currency is not the same thing as greater real wealth.

That distinction matters when discussing hunger, household welfare and the capacity of governments to deliver services.

Don’t debate a clipped video.

Debate the economics: NAIRA VALUE + INFLATION + PURCHASING POWER.
