So you've just bought a #ZX9R now check & do these to it.
Congrats, you have yourself one of the best all-round performance bikes made! You're now thinking what things should I be checking? https://t.co/WtlONyA2kS

Correction: 18 year history. 1990 - 2007 for RAM-Air ZX/ZZR models, including those #ZX6R#ZZR600#ZX7R#ZX9R#ZX11#ZZR1200 models shipped to California and elsewhere. part# 16126A pictured (right) https://t.co/XQlqYQonMg
Reasons why manufacturers supersede part numbers include: Supplier Changes, Material and Cost Optimization, Unique Part Consolidation, and Warranty or Safety Recalls. For instance, take the 2004 #ZX10R frame recall. #ZX9R --> Part# 16126A fuel vapor cut-off valve, not recalled.
Querying by Year, Make, and Model for the 2000 Kawasaki ZX-9R, the ZX-7R, the ZX-11, or the ZZR-1200 yields zero safety recalls relating to the fuel system, carburetors, float bowl venting, or the vacuum-actuated air valve part# 16126/A over its 15 year history.
Restored California EVAP 50-state #zx9r to original condition, including stainless steel OC x 2 catalytic converter exhaust system. 26% better fuel range and vastly better power than when I bought it, w/o carbon monoxide and gasoline ozone emissions! https://t.co/yllMVNpR9x
@shaun7r Correction, 173.5 MPH on California RFG phase II E10 cleaner burning gasoline (CBG) and 142 bhp, 144 PS (metric) horsepower, both in 2000-2001 original stock form. ๐ZX-9R model specs: Horsepower, Performance, Weights, & Capacities https://t.co/sTuJo8liKx
@shaun7r@richthejoiner Minor leaks at the rubber air silencer would be no more than that of the oil overflow tube, located on the left side of the lower airbox half. RAM-Air airbox pressures would go mostly unaffected as a result. But ๐ for replacing it anyway!
Actual digitally recorded RAM-Air airbox pressures at cruise throttle from a 2000 #KawasakiNinja#ZX9R. Readings reflect millibar differentials between outside the airbox and inside it, at speeds of 20 - 90 MPH. Elevation was > 4,500' AMSL with light winds.https://t.co/WtkY1l6wZI
Airbox air density pressure from a #KawasakiNinja#ZX9R as road speeds increased vs. dynoโed traditional #ZRX1100 airbox air densities in ambient air. Source: Sport Rider Mag. How would one adjust jetting on a dynoโed RAM-Air ZX9R with such unrealistic (red) airbox air densities?
@iCpB9N9R6A79HeK Clogged carburetor pilot jets caused from unstable hydrocarbon olefin gumming, also known as, old gasoline varnish. Simply clean out your #ZX9R carburetor pilot fuel passageways and synchronize your Keihin throttle bodies.๐
@justchristwo@shaun7r True and more so for bikes with aerating fuel systems, like Shaun's non-50-State #ZX9R E1P. As pointed out in petrol aging studies for unsealed-containers (red area), fuel aging due to interaction with gaseous oxygen, accelerates oxidation and olefin gums and peroxides w/time.
@JohnDgixerpensh@shaun7r ๐กPer Chevron and lab studies, for EFI and all California EVAP motorcycles, adding fuel stabilizers is redundant for sealed-loop fuel systems. "Gasoline stored in a tightly closed container in a cool place will retain its quality for at least one year." https://t.co/2gFBfdjXrB
@shaun7r@Henry59lewis Those look like they're definitely do the trick, but for about a 10th of the cost you could go the route most other 1998-2001 ZX9R owners have; Nissin/Triumph calipers. https://t.co/aWwILhM0Q6
@shaun7r@ProBikeUK Nice scenic pic, Shaun. And she's looking great!
Are you still liking those #ZX9R Tokico front calipers? Sometimes they work as well as Nissins, but not always. If you're looking for better braking power, less rotor drag and maintenance, it's worth consider Nissin 4-pots.
@TotalMotorcycle This old California variant Kawasaki Ninja #ZX9R#KawasakiNinja with all of its original sealed fuel evaporative emissions system equipment, RAM-Air fuel vapor cut-off valve part# 16126-1288 aka 16126A.
This 2000 California EVAP Kaw #ZX9R has only known #E10gasoline, well except for 2 tanks of E0 gas.
In 2026, sheโs used 3,050 gallons of E10 from 153,000 miles. #EthanolFree = costs more, less MPG, > olefin gums! Whereas, O2 E10 = more power everywhere!
#Trufuel or E5?๐NO WAY!
