ICYMI: @startelegram coverage of the Epstein-style sweetheart deal Ken Paxton’s office gave to admitted child molester Adam Hoffman.
It’s time to release the Hoffman Files.
A federal judge asked DOJ to put it under oath: Is the $1.8 billion “anti-weaponization” fund really dead?
Todd Blanche said no. DOJ called the request “unnecessary.”
If the fund is truly gone, why the refusal to swear to it in court? That question isn’t going away.
We know why. Of course we do.
Reminder as you're traveling this summer:
Trump reversed a rule that required airlines to automatically refund you with CASH—not vouchers, not points—for canceled or severely delayed flights.
United Airlines and Delta Airlines each gave $1 million to Trump’s inauguration fund.
Me, a year ago: “Another Toy Story? These people are ruining my childhood. Come up with something new.”
Me, today: “Toy Story 5 is a profound commentary on technology, parenting, and the erosion of community in modern America. It’s sacred and must be protected at all costs.”
🚨BREAKING: ICE agents, in Texas, admitted, on camera, that they illegally pulled over a woman, and still demand to see her ID.
In the video, the agent tells the driver that they are looking for a woman, and say the person’s name they are looking for.
The driver immediately responded that they had the wrong person.
The agent responded, “I know. I understand that.”
But, instead of ending the stop… he continued to harass her, and asked, “Are you going to be childish?”
Then he doubled down… saying she looked like the person they were looking for, and that he needed her ID.
That’s when she pushed back and said, “bullshit.” And pointed out that they hadn’t even run her plates, because then they would know who she was…
So, to break down what just happened:
The ICE agents didn’t have a match on the vehicle registration.
They were told, directly, they had the wrong person.
They admitted that they knew that.
And they still continued to demand to see her ID based on “she looks like her.”
The Fourth Amendment requires more than a resemblance. It requires reasonable suspicion you are involved in a crime, or the law enforcement saw you commit a crime.
If “you look like somebody” is enough to pull someone over, then there’s no meaningful limit left on who can be pulled over… which puts everyone in danger.
For the first time ever in the United States the national price of a pound of Ground beef is now higher than the federal hourly minimum wage.
Thank you MAGA & Trump!

Lauren Boebert knew the Medicaid cuts she voted for would hurt people in Colorado's 4th District. When a fellow congressman warned about the damage, she responded "you're not wrong." Then she voted yes anyway.
That vote cut hundreds of billions from Medicaid to help pay for tax breaks for the wealthy. And now nearly a quarter of Colorado's rural hospitals are at risk of closing.
Our district deserves a representative who actually fights for us. That is why I am running.
Land bordering Yosemite, Sequoia, and Pinnacles National Parks — now cleared for oil rigs and fracking. YES fracking!
Two hundred thousand people said NO. The federal government did it anyway.
Over 1 million acres of California public land just got opened up - land that touches ancient sequoia groves older than the country itself and sits right in Yosemite’s backyard.
Patagonia's CEO came out swinging, accusing the administration of putting oil profits over the planet's health and saying public land was never meant to be sold off to drilling companies.
And the man who'll make the final call? He was recently confirmed to run BLM after his own state party called him "an outright enemy of public lands."
Who's going to tell a tree older than the country that its time is up?
