🚨🚨GOODNEWS FOR INTERNATIONAL NURSES 🚨🚨 📣 BIG NEWS for International Nurses! 🇺🇸🩺 The U.S. Congress just introduced the NURSE Visa Act a bipartisan bill aimed at tackling America’s deepening nurse shortage by creating up to 20,000 NEW nonimmigrant visas each year exclusively for internationally-trained nurses! 🇺🇸👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️ CLOCK IT👌👌👌 Here’s what that means 👇 ✅ What’s the NURSE Visa Act? It’s a new bill in the U.S. House (H.R.7351) introduced on February 4, 2026 by Rep. Don Beyer that would amend U.S. immigration law to grant temporary work visas to qualified foreign nurses who agree to work in U.S. healthcare facilities experiencing staffing shortages. ✅ How many visas? This legislation proposes raising the nurse nonimmigrant visa cap from a tiny number to about 20,000 per year a huge expansion that could help thousands of nurses come to the U.S. ✅ What kind of jobs? These would be nonimmigrant (temporary) work visas meaning nurses could live and work in the U.S. legally while addressing real nurse staffing gaps, especially in shortage areas. ✅ Does this fix green card backlogs? Not yet. This bill focuses on temporary work visas not permanent residency (green cards) — but it could significantly shorten the wait to start working while longer-term solutions are debated. 👉 Important: This bill has been introduced in Congress, but it has NOT yet become law. It must pass the House, the Senate, and be signed by the President before it takes effect. 🧠 Why this matters now 📍 The U.S. is facing a major nursing shortage, with hundreds of thousands fewer nurses than needed.
