Imagine that’s your child. If they survive Israel’s indiscriminate bombing on residential areas, you ask who is still under the rubble? Are my family’s bodies still intact? The trauma stays forever.
I have very successful wealthy female clients who absolutely refuse to get legally married.
Instead they only want to get religiously married according to the Quran and Sunnah along with a legally binding contractual agreement that delineates each parties roles and responsibilities.
Why?
They don’t feel comfortable getting legally married and therefore giving up their right to individual property ownership as secular laws would dictate.
They don’t want to create an incentive to divorce whereby their husband has the power to divorce them for any reason, and take half their wealth and 1/3 of their income. They also don’t want to risk being forced to carry their husbands debts.
Modern secular family laws are completely contradictory to faith based marital rights.
Secular laws destroy individual property ownership for both parties. That can create a financial incentive to divorce and be a source of tremendous conflict. It can also force one party to carry the debts of another.
Islam protects both the woman and man’s rights to individual property ownership, and shields each from carrying the debts of the other while requiring the husband to provide for the family even if his wife’s income is greater.
Secular law forces the wealthier spouse to pay child support even if that means the mother must pay child support.
Islamic law requires the husband to provide for the children even if his wife is wealthier.
Islamic based marital principles protect both the husband and wife and the marriage and family as a whole.
Secular based family laws harm all.
The skyrocketing divorce rates in the West are the perfect example of that.
The solution? Do not get legally married without a valid contract or prenup to preserve your God-given rights that are undermined by secular laws.

Learn to appreciate closed doors. They’re not meant to hurt you. But they’re there to save you. It’s difficult for us to understand this at times, given our limited minds. We need to fully trust the Almighty, who is in complete control. He is flawless. He knows what He’s doing.
