There has been a lot of interest from individuals and local councils in establishing a scholarship in memory of our great leader, friend and lover of literacy, Bonnie Schmeltz. We want to ensure her legacy of supporting teachers of literacy continues.
Very sad to report that our past president and longtime @AACountySchools educational leader, Bonnie Schmeltz, has passed away. She made a difference in the lives of students and teachers across our county and in the state.
When the pandemic first hit and isolation began, I found my creativity sapped. I was unable to write. Now, many weeks in, I am beginning to feel the opposite. I am writing again as a means of escape. Writing is a refuge from the horrors of the daily news. A daily grounding.
