This Saturday Downtown we've got 2 big Bicentennial events!

Join us at Noon to help us build the new LEGO courthouse around the old LEGO courthouse, as in 1954.

Then at 2 PM, it's the world premiere of LAST SUMMER, a new play about Fermi and Heisenberg in Ann Arbor in 1939.

In 1974, AAPL produced a video series of interviews celebrating 150 years of the city's history. For our bicentennial project, filmmaker Aaron Valdez combed through 17 hours of rediscovered interviews to produce I Remember When: Bicentennial Remix:

The U–M Summer Symposium in Theoretical Physics brought great minds to A2 for 15 years between WWI & WWII. One evening in 1939, Enrico Fermi tried to convince his friend Werner Heisenberg not to return to Germany, where he would be compelled to help Nazis develop nuclear weapons.
