If you mean in a spiritual sense, the killer was obviously consumed by anger, hatred, and self righteousness. These attributes are punishments themselves.

@Philoso49014660 I completely agree. The entire universe appears to be designed. I just had this argument with an atheist on Quora. It got to the point that I needed more evidence to support the Big Bang. Like what? Is it not one of the most fundamental theories in physics?

@realVincentTon The pencil was an example for Kant’s argument. The pencil does not possess the causality known as “the will” while humans do. Again, assumptions are needed for both arguments which doesn’t prove that either are true.

@realVincentTon It’s not necessarily false, but it is not necessarily true. The first premise has to be assumed, just like it has to be assumed when arguing free will.
