On this Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the Assyrian American National Federation honors the legacy of Dr. King — a timeless voice for justice, dignity, and peaceful resistance.
His message that “injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere” continues to resonate today, including with the Assyrian people who continue to seek freedom, safety, and the right to live with dignity. As a community shaped by resilience, we stand in solidarity with all who strive for justice and human rights.

The AANF would like to congratulate Dyana Dawood for her accomplishments with the Iraqi women’s soccer team. Dyana is one of the few to play professionally in Europe, as well as Division 1 college soccer.
Dyana, a graduate of Niles West High School, has marked her presence at the Women’s WAFF Championship, as she paves the way for future generations. We wish her the best in her professional journey!
Alan Mooshekh, president of Assyrian American National Federation and Carmen Morad of Vote Assyrian met with Stanislaus county Voter Registrar/ Clerk Recorder in Modesto, California. The group discussed ongoing efforts to ensure that the voice of Assyrians are heard by improving voter engagement, accessible poles, and providing voter registration cards and ballots in the Assyrian language.
URGENT: Assyrian Security and Constitutional Rights in Syria and Iraq
Population numbers of Assyrians in Syria and Iraq continue to decrease due to risks in the region.
We are urging Assyrians of the United States to sign this letter to have it be shared with US House and Senate Representatives to safeguard Assyrian security and implementation of constitutional rights in Syria and Iraq.
