Kugler was just a field assistant at the time of scouting this part of south east Trinidad back in 1913. Mas Bakal’s influence on these expeditions were eternalized through Malay names that he assigned in the field, one such was 'Kapur' which translates to limestone.

👣 Led by Christopher Kelshall, and facilitated by @TouchstoneExp, the @AAPGYP_TT embarked on a 7hr round trip hiking expedition, following in the footsteps of renowned geologist Hans Kugler, his supervisor August Tobler and their Malaysian surveying companion Mas Bakal.
