Once the assurance from govt come I will also appeal to the peacefully protesting students to halt the movement for now and enter into dialogue with the government

Modi govt is a heartless govt. Its been more than 17 days since Sonam Wangchuk has been on a hunger strike. Plus all over the country there have been protests demanding accountability for resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan due to NEET paper leak.

NTA announced on 12th May that NEET paper was leaked. Re-examinantion was conducted on 21st June.

Its been over 2 months & yet PM Modi has not opened his mouth regarding concerns of students & Indian education system.

Heaven's won't fall if Dharmendra Pradhan was asked to resign but its the arrogance of the present dispensation that makes them so rigid.

More than 20 young medical aspirants committed suicide but none of the ministers of the Modi govt even are seen concerned about the trauma their families would be going through.

None of the protests & press conferences done by the Indian National Congress on this very specific issue isn't even covered by the mainstream media.

We are not living in normal times. Accountability is asked from the opposition & not to the central govt in today's India.

An Open Letter to the Jantar Mantar protestors:

My dear young friends,

I address you today not as a politician or an MP, but as someone deeply troubled by what is happening to your generation of young Indians.

This is personal for me. I was born to a middle-class family: my father was a salaried newspaper employee, my mother a homemaker, with three children to educate on one income. For a family like ours, merit was not a slogan. Scholarships, fair examinations, honest results — these were the only way one salary could carry three children's dreams.

I went to school in Mumbai and Kolkata, to college here in Delhi, topped the University and earned admission into IIM — and chose instead to follow my passion for international affairs, in America, on a scholarship. Nothing was inherited; everything was earned by hard work and yes, Exams.

So I know that a fair, merit-based system is the only ladder for young people from lower and middle-income families to climb up. When that ladder is broken — papers leaked, examinations cancelled, trust destroyed — the children of the rich and powerful do not suffer. They have other ladders. It is your dreams, and your families' sacrifices (and tragically, in some homes, young lives themselves) that are betrayed.

To the young people gathered at Jantar Mantar, and those raising your voices peacefully across India: this country hears you. Your anger is not indiscipline — it is the anguish of a generation that did everything right and was still betrayed . You are not alone.

And to the millions of young Indians watching quietly: your generation is not a problem to be managed. You are the answer to India's future. Do not lose hope. This ladder will be rebuilt — by you, and by every Indian who stands with you.

To Shri Sonam Wangchuk-ji, my heartfelt appeal: please end your fast. You have awakened the conscience of the nation; that is what a fast is meant to do. India needs your voice for the long road ahead.

With Parliament in session again from Monday, we will have an opportunity to raise the students’ issues in the highest forum of our democracy. That’s where the problem should be addressed, not by fasting unto death. Please heed my plea.

And finally, to the Government: I respectfully urge you to reach out and engage in the dialogue our democracy owes its young citizens. That is not weakness; that is statesmanship.

A very prominent journalist came to Jantar Mantar today to cover Sonam Wangchuk’s hunger strike.

Police officials stopped the journalist and falsely claimed that Sonam Wangchuk was not there and had been taken to the hospital.

Why are the police stooping so low? Why are they lying to journalists and preventing them from covering the protest?

The government's E20 ethanol blending policy is a total disaster and a mathematical lie. They claim it saves forex, but the reality is exactly the opposite. Ethanol has 33% less energy than pure petrol, which means your car's mileage drops by 15-20% in heavy city traffic. If your mileage drops, you end up buying more fuel to cover the same distance. This means we are actually importing more pure petrol now than before.. Plus, most bikes and cars on the road today have carburetors and are not built for this fuel. It is literally corroding engines and harassing middle-class owners. The $4 billion savings claim by NITI Aayog is completely flawed because petrol is only 17.5% of our total oil consumption. It is just a way to force people to buy new vehicles while destroying their current ones.

Do read this article. Govt was saying that ethanol saves forex. No. On the contrary, E20 decision is causing more forex outflow and no other benefit with huge costs and harassment to ordinary people.

ऑटो कंपनियों ने क्या सरकार के दबाव में पुरानी गाड़ियों के लिए E 20 पेट्रोल के इस्तेमाल को सही ठहराया है ?
अगर 2023 के पहले की गाड़ियों के लिए E 20 पेट्रोल सही है तो 2023 के बाद की गाड़ियों को E 20 compatible क्यों बनाया गया ?
@ArvindKejriwal ने आज 29 ऑटो कंपनियों को चिट्ठी लिखकर लिखित जवाब मांगा है . केजरीवाल ने कहा सरकार के दबाव में प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस करने वाली कंपनियां लिखकर दे दें कि पुरानी गाड़ियों में E 20 पेट्रोल के इस्तेमाल से उन्हें कोई नुकसान नहीं होगा. अगर हुआ तो ऑटो कंपनियां भरपाई करेंगी.
केजरीवाल की राजनीति से आप सहमत हों या असहमत , ये मानना पड़ेगा मुद्दा उन्होंने सही उठाया है.
जवाब अब कंपनियों को देना है .
